I read this book around 2012-2013 but I believe it was written in the mid 90s. I think it was possibly the first in a series. It centered on a boy who was invisible because he had fallen into a pool inside a cave. I think he also had an invisible dog that just had a visible tail. He and his friends solved mysteries and would use his invisibility to help. I remember a dog show scene where the boy had to remove his clothes so he would be fully invisible.
