SOLVED! Children’s Picture book that features animals in a western cowboy town, and protagonist is bullied for his big nose

This book has been stuck in my mind for the past week and I cannot find it anywhere.

I am trying to remember one of my childhood books. It is a children’s picture book that is basically a retelling of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer. Taking place in a western cowboy town, all of the characters are animals, and the main character is something that resembles a mole or armadillo. The plot is a bit fuzzy for me, but I remember most of it:
He is born with a very big nose, much bigger than the rest of his kind, and he is made fun of for it as he grows up. He becomes a cowboy and hides his nose with a handkerchief. One day, he sees that there has been a heist or kidnapping in a canyon, and because of his big nose, he can track the antagonists down. He is a hero and if I remember correctly, he marries his childhood crush.

If anyone can help me remember the name, I would appreciate it! I believe it may be a 90s - 00s children’s picture book.

UPDATE: My amazing mother helped me look it up! It is Cyrano the Bear, a sheriff who writes love poems to his childhood lover Roxanne, but is afraid she will never love her because of his big nose. I wish I could find more photos of the inside illustrations, but I can rest in peace now.

Just to eliminate, Arthur’s Nose by Marc Brown is another kid’s book about an aardvark made fun of for his nose.
