Sugar and Salt
How to love your daughter seems great.
Sugar and Salt is just about as original as you might imagine from the name. One of my local book clubs is reading it.

I loved that book! It takes its time to get going, but it so worth it. Hope you enjoy it as well.
Rachel wrote: "My library does not have Unknown Beloved so I put The Law of Moses on my wish list. Have you read that one by her?"
I've not read Law of Moses, but my favourite of her works (of the ones I have read so far) is The Songbook of Benny Lament.

It's a good read.

Loved it!

A middle-grade retelling of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' An ambitious debut that gets it mostly right.

I gave this one 4 stars and wrote: I enjoyed this courtroom thriller that reads like a chess game (and includes one).

An Arabian Nights spinoff centred on Scheherazade (or Shaherazade, as she is called in this version.) A great attempt, but too ambitious for a debut novelist. You might fare better with it if you don't know much about the original. I did.

My library does not have that one either. They have about 10 or more books that she wrote.

A sweet magical realism story. And when I saw 'sweet', I mean 'overly saccharine sweet'. Works well for the plot, so no major complaints.

Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful book. I loved when I read it and might go back for seconds.

I have long wanted to read that book but my library do not have it.

Indian historical fiction with a talking vulture. Interested? ;)

I bet you would enjoy them all over again, Rachel. Her relationships have a lot of subtleties you might even see differently this time.

That sounds great.

A lovely book that I would have liked even better had I not read another novel with a similar storyline.

I just started reading the above and am enjoying it so far.
August Blue
I just started listening to August Blue and am enjoying it.
