"The Tsung-Ki-Shek is an empire. In the year whateverthehell humanity left Earth, colonized other planets, expanded and all that. After a while Earth kind of died, along with the rest of the Milky Way, and way out near the frontier Emperor Ming-based on the badguy from Flash Gordon-started taking over everything he could. They're expanding back in the direction of Earth, and every new planet they take is another ball of resources to either turn into war machines or sell."

Aria said, "Wow. That is a good reason why they are rich." She was surprised at what he said since it sounded kind of...fake, but thats because it was from a book.

"Well." He shrugged. "It's hard to run an empire otherwise. Anyway, the hope is that if reality is completely fucked up, it's at least fucked up in the way Starbomb is where the Tsung have only recently gotten to Earth. There's no orbital satellites, and the only spaceships are landing craft. Of course the book was also written years after all of Earth's real satellites already stopped working so it's a total crapshoot what level of technology they're at."
