"Should we?" Aria asked. She had been thinking about when they should leave but she wasn't sure when.

"If she watched the news, she'll know who we are. What we are. She seems nice now, but what if theres a reward for us?"
She hesitated thinking that Rebecca wouldn't do that but she really didn't know her so for all she knew, Rebecca would do that. "You're right we should leave tomorrow," Aria said.

"What time should we leave tomorrow?" Aria asked Theodore. She was thinking the early morning before Rebecca woke up.
Aria nodded and said, "Lets get some sleep first so we'll be ready to leave."
"Yeah." Theodore walked down the hall. "We have sperate rooms, right?"
Aria nodded and said, "Good night," before walking into her room.
"Well," he tried to stop her, "uh, if anything happens, y'know, let me know. I have the gun..."
She turned around and said, "Okay. Thanks." She smiled before walking in.
Theodore retired to his own prescribed room. He removed his shoes but remained otherwise dressed (socks and all) in case he was needed to move in a hurry.
Aria climbed into the bed and was thinking that she didn't want to have to leave her aunt without telling her. She sighed knowing that she would have to so she tried to fall asleep.
Theodore slept on his back, over the blankets, uncomfortably hot in his hoodie and pants despite the cold state. He folded his hands over his chest and stared into the darkness (specifically his eyes sought the ceiling, which was out of sight), wondering just What in the Hell is going on? That question perplexed him for what felt like hours before he finally closed his eyes.
Aria woke up many times during the night and each time she turned over to try to get comfortable again. Her attempts were futile because sleep was not near. She sighed and stared at the clock for what seemed like hours despite the face telling her it had been ten minutes. She squeezed her eyes shut telling herself to go to sleep but couldn't. She groaned and just laid back on the pillow.
Growing up on an orchard had its advantages: Theodore woke himself at five, almost on the dot, and rolled out of bed. He laced up his shoes, then removed the pistol from its hiding place under the pillow. He tucked it once more into his waistband, covered by his shirt and jacket, before carefully exiting the room. I wish I didn't have to sneak out before breakfast.
Aria woke up to the sound of her alarm on the quiet setting and she stayed in bed for a second since she had to remember where she was and why she was getting up so early. She got out of bed and put back on her old clothes which Rebecca had washed. She put them on quickly and quietly since she didn't want to wake up her aunt. She finished and grabbed her purse before going to see if Theodore was ready.
Theodore nodded to aria when she crept out of her room, then brought a finger to his lips, telling her to be quiet. He walked slowly towards the stairs... ( so does her aunt know about them or not?)
(she doesn't know what is happening with them, only that aria is her niece and that theodore is her friend)Aria nodded and followed him down the stairs. She had her purse, her only possession with her, as she went down the stairs.
Theodore nervously pulled his shirt up and rested his hand on the pistol hilt as they walked downstairs. When it was determined nothing was waiting to surprise them, he opened the front door for her. "We'll leave the car here and walk to a rental?"
Aria whispered back to Theodore, "Yeah, that'll work. Its probably better than taking her car." She walked out away from Rebecca's house next to Theodore into town where they had seen the rental place.
"I wouldn't want to steal her car. She seemed nice. And I guess she can keep ours for the trouble."
She nodded agreeing and said quietly more to herself, "That wouldn't be nice." She was still thinking about leaving Rebecca who would most likely call her parents asking where she was.
Theodore yawned, rubbed his eyes with the black of one hand, and looked around the neighborhood in the early morning light. "Seems like a nice place."
Aria said, "Yeah, it does." She always nice small neighborhoods or towns and it seemed like this place was one of those.
"Quiet. No one selling drugs at five in the morning."
She nodded in agreement as they kept walking down the silent streets.
"... I can believe, if we lie, I can rent a car on cash. Tell them we only need it for two days. BUt if they ask for a credit card, then, y'know, I'll be charged every day for infinity."
Aria quickly said, "No we don't want that. We should just pay with cash then. Soon, they walked up to the rental place that had just opened.
Theodore was an oddly quick negotiator. For some as awkward as he'd proven to be, he seemed to be at anything but discomfort lying through his teeth about their rental plans. He was forced to show a valid ID and driver's license, but listed a fake address without a second thought. Within an hour and a half, they were back on the road in a beat up, rusty car-noisy and unsightly, but also unrecognizable.
Aria was sitting in the front seat of the car and she was remembering how they got it. "Good job back there," she said to Theodore, "I can't lie that good, or at all. When I do it is very obvious since my voice sounds strange and there are lots of pauses." She was usually glad that she couldn't lie but she was kind of annoyed about it now since it would be helpful.
"Well." Theodore shrugged. "Y'know how it is..." he mumbled, not proud of his lying. He looked out his window and drummed his fingers against the steering wheel. "I should've asked for a GPS... but we're already stealing a car, so. I guess we've done enough damage."
Aria said, "We can use my phone if you want. I borrowed one of Rebecca's charges since I asked her for one before dinner last night." She knew that when they got on the road she wouldn't have a charger.
"You just took it? See if you can plug it into the car, then. Set a destination for-" he hesitated, looked at her, then back at the road. "For Seattle. I can navigate from there."
She looked for the charging space in the car and when she found it she plugged it in. She checked that it was working as she searched on the maps the way to get to Seattle.
"ETA? Er, how many hours you think?"
"I'm not sure. It depends on traffic and stops," she said.
"Well yeah, but aproximately? We're halfway through this stage already, and then we cross Washington. So it'll be maybe 10 his, plus if we stop for anything."
Aria nodded and said, "That was fast. I didn't expect to be in Washington at this point." She was looking out the windows at everything that they were passing.
"...nono I mean we're half way through Idaho. Like, the city. It's almost dead in the middle."
Aria furrowed her brows and said, "I didn't know that that was a city. Oops."
Theodore sighed. "The city were in, currently, is halfway through Idaho."
Aria nodded and said, "Okay." She continued to look through the window.
"Sorry. Guess I'm not that easy to understand. Least, that's what the critics say," he offered with a half-hearted chuckle.
Aria laughed slightly understanding what he was saying but didn't really know what to him to comfort him.
He drummed his fingers against the steering wheel again. "So. How did you expect these last two days to go?"
Aria laughed humorlessly and said, "Definitely not like this. I was hoping to maybe get inspiration, meet some new authors and be relaxed. SO basically the opposite except that I met you."
"I was told the local pub scene had native, potato-based beers. So i was thinking more time spent on the bathroom floor. Or shower."
Aria laughed at what he said. She hadn't heard about that but she hadn't really asked anyone had or was living there.
