I am searching for this book for my husband who read this book around 2010. He believes it was made in to a tv movie in the 50s or 60s.
Guy is walking horse too well. Horse is drinking. Guy walks up to cabin to let someone know he’s there. Girl gets thrown out of cabin as he’s walking up to it. Three guys come out. Guy says he doesn’t want any trouble. Shootout happens. The three guys were the judges sons. Girl from cabin killed one of the sons. Main character spends some time in jail and befriends the sheriff who respects him. Ending is that the judge dies trying to kill the main guy in the court room. Judge pulls gun but has heart attack.
