I recently just finished The Hollow: The Play by Agatha Christie, I am on the fence for recommending it just yet since I want to read the Original Novel. My next mystery book is a collection of Hercule Poirot stories :)
Enjoyed a cozy trip back in time with
Murder at the Majestic Hotel by Clara McKenna https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Killer Traitor Spy
is a very current Aussie thriller in former journalist Tim Ayliffe's Greater Good series. It's not just Reds under the bed anymore! It's a big world and it's full of spiesI love the series, but this would be just as good as a standalone.
My review of Killer Traitor Spy
Finishing out the week with
Teacher's Threat by Diane Vallere https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm cranking through a Val McDermid moment right now: On book three of the Karen Pirie series, but also read 1979 and1989. Solid reads that are SO well researched they make me green with envy at her knowldge!
I just finished two books by Amy Engel, Roanoke Girls and The Familiar Dark, Not my favorite books hate to say.
As the title suggests,
The Benevolent Society of Ill-Mannered Ladies
is an amusing historical fiction about the daring adventures of twin aristocratic sisters who risk more than their reputations to rescue women living in desperately awful circumstances. Fun, but also dark.
My review of ...ill-mannered Ladies
My review of Murder in the Book Lover’s Loft by Ellery Adams

I'm having a paint cozy themed week. First up is
Death in a Pale Hue by Susan Van Kirk https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am new to this group and so excited to have found a group who loves thriller books! I am currently reading The Night Swim and I am truly loving it at only 67 pages in!

Second half of my art center week:
Paint Me a Crime by Holly Yew https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Return to Valetto
by Aussie author (living in US) Dominic Smith felt like someone's real story to me. Old women in an ancient Italian village conduct Google searches from their crumbling villa. War crimes are not forgotten.

My review of The Puzzle of Blackstone Lodge by Martin Edwards

I recently finished
The Caretaker by Gabriel BergmoserMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting out the week with
Murder at a London Finishing School by Jessica Ellicott https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Sydney brothel in 1930 may not sound like a YA setting, but I think teens would enjoy young Violet. Even the title, Violet Kelly and the Jade Owl, sounds good. It's a mystery with some local history by Aussie author Fiona Britton
