The Reunion Dinner by Jesse Q. Sutanto is the second "busybody" story in Amazon's collection of six. They are short, quirky mysteries that I read as an entertaining break between books.

On a more serious note, I'm glad I decided to give Orbital by Samantha Harvey a try. It's on the Booker Prize short list, and I'm happy to say I can see why they chose it.
My review of Orbital
Not Mine to Keep by Brittney Sahin 4-StarsAction, adventure, suspense & intrigue all wrapped up in red hot romance

⭐⭐⭐.5 for #3 in the Scottish Isle Mysteries series
Death at a Scottish Christmas by Lucy Connelly https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Different Scottish Isles in this one.The skies of the Scottish Hebrides in Peter May's Lewis Trilogy mysteries are often as dark as the covers suggest, but the people's stories are fascinating. The Chessmen was the last, but a new fourth one just came out that I'm looking forward to. A trilogy+1?
My review of The Chessmen
Post Office by Charles Bukowski. Bukowski’s semi-autobiographical, irreverent anecdotes from working a dead-end job, getting drunk and chasing women. I loved it.

I finished a very good Historical mystery The Cold Light of Day
by Anna Lee Huber. Book 7 in series. One of the better one set in 1920 Ireland. Lots of discussion of Sinn Fein. Our characters keep growing and become more complex. Great series but start with book 1.
I liked The Plot but loved
The Sequel: The follow up to the New York Times Bestselling The Plot: 'Insanely readable.' Stephen King by Jean Hanff Korelitz ⭐⭐⭐⭐.6 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
⭐⭐⭐⭐.2 for this multi-layered Aussie outback story

What's on my bedside table? A lamp, glasses tray, a pic of hubby and my kindle that is full of ebooks, like HUNDREDS of ebooks.
I was on vacation this last week, but here's what I reviewed during that time:
The Baffled Beatlemaniac Caper by Sally Carpenter https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Death Checked Out by Leah Dorbrinska https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Hiii, I’m a new member in the reading community. I started to read last month and I’m loving it! Currently reading “The Only One Left” by Riley Sager. I’m like 20% in and I have a feeling that I have to buy all of the books by Sager. I’m so hooked by this one, I can’t put it down..😲
Kicking off this week with the fun action novel
The General's Gold by LynDee Walker by Bruce Robert Coffin https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Welcome, Emma. Finding a favorite author is addicting.
Alexander McCall Smith's wonderful little girl detective solves the second of her Very First Cases in Precious and the Mystery of Meerkat Hill. Reliably entertaing with a good moral, as expected. Cute!
My review of Precious and the Mystery of Meerkat Hill
I am kicking off November by looking at
Murder at Marble House by Alyssa Maxwell https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Why have I waited so long to read this classic? The Big Sleep is the first in Raymond Chandler's iconic private eye series featuring Philip Marlowe. I can sure see why it would have raised some eyebrows back then.
My review of The Big Sleep
I finished A Killer in King's Cove
. I will give it 3.3. It is beautifully written, the setting is lovely (rural British Columbia), interesting time period. I like books with strong characters and supporting characters. Our main character, Lane, I was thought was boring. None of the supporting cast did anything for me either. I have a friend who loves this series. I see the following books get good ratings. Maybe if a see the book for free I will pick it up. Overall just okay for me.
A slow burn that develops into one wild ride of a thriller!
A Very Bad Thing by J.T. Ellison ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Kicking off the week with the Thanksgiving themed novella
Sheer Window by Diane Vallere https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished an excellent book The Night Woods
by Paula Munier. Very good series but start with book 1. Excellent character development. If you like dogs you will love this series.
A couple more fun ones from Amazon's Busybodies Collection, cosy mysteries.Crime of Fashion by Emma Rosenblum takes place at a fashion shoot where a minor underling is accused of stealing a necklace worth $3million! Poor kid.
My review of Crime of Fashion~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Nosy Neighbor is by Nita Prose, who wrote the popular The Maid, among other things. It seemed straightforward, but I should have known better. Nicely twisty.
My review of The Nosy Neighbor
My next stop this week was
A Matter of Life and Depths, the second Cruising Sisters Mystery from K.B. Jackson https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Michael Connelly has Harry Bosch and The Closers reopening unsolved murder cases using new testing technologies on old evidence. Another excellent story.
My review of The Closers
Switchblade by Michael Connelly is a Harry Bosch short story which I enjoyed as an audio. It's another cold case solved with the help of an unexpected tip and new DNA testing.
My review of Switchblade
