Robert Bryndza's latest novel, Fear the Silence, is a standalone thriller that takes place on a remote Croation island in wild, stormy weather. English doctor Maggie is alone and terrified!
My review of Fear the Silence
It isn't marketed as a thriller, but
Blood
by acclaimed Aussie Aboriginal author Tony Birch had me so nervous I couldn't stop reading. Little kids with a slack mother who keeps some seriously bad company makes for a scary read. Just terrific!
My review of Blood
Enjoyed the latest from the always delightful Donna Andrews -
Birder, She Wrote https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am reading a very good new Historical Mystery Courting Dragons
by Jeri Westerson. Set in 1529 in King Henry VIII court. Very engaging book you want to know happens next. I like our main character Will a lot. It is a tough job being Henry VIII's court Jester.
The Kate Daniels' adventures continue with the surprise release of
Magic Claims by Ilona Andrews. This is the second story in the Wilmington trilogy. Chronologically,
it follows after the main series of 10 novels and before Blood Heir.
For those who have never read the UF Kate Daniels series, a new reader could start with the Wilmington trilogy to get a taste for Kate & team.

This is a good series to read out of order. I don't feel like there is that much in the way of on going storylines you miss out on if you skip around.
And it is such a fun series!
My only regret with All the Devils Are Here is that Louise Penny set the story in Paris instead of Canada. All the family are together, though, and all are in life-threatening danger.
My review of All the Devils Are Here
I just finished Eyeshot / Taylor Adams. Although it held my attention, I enjoyed his No Exit much more. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
I'm kicking off the week with a novella collection:
Halloween Cupcake Murder, with stories by Carlene O'Connor, Liz Ireland, and Carol J. Perry https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Returned: A gripping Irish crime thriller by Amanda Cassidy ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Magic BitesAfter reading the second installment of Kate Daniels: The Wilmington Years, I just had to do a re-read of the series. I found this audiobook version for Kate Daniels #1 made by Graphic Audio which uses a full cast to "perform" / read the book and includes sound effects.

I recently enjoyed
A Peculiar Combination by Ashley Weaver. This historical mystery is a lot of fun. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting reading a free giveaway Amazing Grace Adams
by Fran Littlewood looks like it should be good

My review of Dead Mountain by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Childhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I recently enjoyed the seventh adventure with Master Mercurius (now Doctor, thank you very much!) in the Netherlands, 17th century. This time, author Graham Brack has him investigating a 'locked-room' Murder In Maastricht where he is supposed to be engaged in a debate about witches. An impossible crime scene? Witches?
My review of Murder in Maastricht
Magic Burns Dramatized Adaptation : Kate Daniels 2 (Kate DanielsYes, Renée Raudman was a great narrator of Ilona Andrews's Kate Daniels series, but GraphicAudio made a really good version of Magic Burns Dramatized Adaptation : Kate Daniels 2 (Kate Daniels.

Currently Reading The Agathas by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson ! It's a very nice read so far, some plot twists made me gasp and I love how they added 2 perspectives!
I am reading the latest book by Sujata Massey The Mistress of Bhatia House
Set in 1922 Bombey. Our protagonist Perveen Mistry is the only Woman Solicitor in India at that time. Very good view of India in the 1920s, well developed characters. I great enjoy this series.
Kicking off the week with
Murder in the Wine Country by Janet Finsilver https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished reading Wolf Man (Wolf Pack #4) / Edo Van Belkom.I've very much enjoyed reading the entire Wolf Pack series / Edo Van Belkom. Now, I'm wondering whether or not the Wolf Pack TV series will continue with season 2. Season 1 was excellent, and is available on Paramount+ ...
Now I have to read the next two! The Black House is the first of Peter May's popular Lewis Trilogy, and it was terrifying, moving, and compelling. Great read.
My review of The Black House
Magic Strikes by Ilona AndrewsGoing through my re-read of the Kate Daniels series and #3 is where the series begins to gain momentum. It's a great jumping off point for new readers.
My Review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Magic Bleeds by Ilona AndrewsEven with a re-read, this is still one of my personal favorites in the series. It's probably also the latest point in the series in which a new reader could jump into the Kate Daniels world.

Lenny Marks Gets Away With Murder is Aussie author Kerryn Mayne's debut novel, which shows how childhood trauma could break or make lonely primary school teacher Lenny.
