Finished rereading Trading in Danger. Already started rereading the next in the series, which is Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon.
I’m also reading the new fantasy Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree. It’s not holding my attention as well as Legends & Lattes did but I’ll probably finish it. There are a lot of new fantasy books dropping this month that I’ve either preordered or put on a list to remind myself to try a free preview.

Been reading a lot of old comics on my computer lately. I finished an issue of a title called Space Western, not exactly Space Opera but it does have rocketships in it. Here is my review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
If anyone wants to check it out and see what I am talking about here is a link

The site I found it on has a lot of old sci-fi comics and pulp magazines as well. Well worth taking a look at.

Partway through rereading Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon I got distracted by multiple new fantasy books. Jerry Boyd just posted on Facebook “The Butler Did It, Bob and Nikki #40, is with Amazon! Should be live soon.” so I’ll be distracted soon from my current new fantasy book (which is still not getting to the good parts yet) by the new Bob and Nikki book.

Finished The Butler Did It by Jerry Boyd. Lots of various people trying to pull fast ones and Bob being sneakier. Fans of Bob’s Saucer Repair will enjoy it, but you probably should read the full series in order. That will take a while because this is book #40.
A bit on the light side but recently finished issue 41 of DC's Showcase comic
. Not sure if this space opera or not but here is my reviewhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I’m currently reading Hell's Gate by David Weber. SF but not space opera. There are gates between universes which have always gone to empty worlds very similar to the one you started from, but not in the same location on that world. Always, for as long as the people exploring them have been exploring. Until now. First Contact in a weird sort of way.
Had to spend the last three days in Victoria for surgery, stuff they couldn't do up here, and took two books to read. One was on the Canadian Heavyweight Title (professional wrestling) that existed between 1978 and 1984. That one was thin and I finished it. Then continued on with Poul Anderson's
. Got quite a bit read but it is a thick book.
I finished Hell's Gate by David Weber but that isn’t one I’ll reread, and I won’t be reading the sequel. Very long, way too many POV characters, and too many of the POV characters are unethical jerks. You might like it, but it isn’t for me.
Now I’m wading through my accumulated free previews to see if something grabs me. If I don’t find anything I’ll go back to rereading Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon.
Jerry Boyd mentioned on Facebook that his next book should drop around Dec 15th.

I loved David Weber's initial Honor Harrington books, but stopped reading after the 5th or 6th book. Most of the material was exposition in the form of military staff meetings. Staff meetings are dreadful enough in real life, so I certainly don't want to read about them in fiction. :)
A Xmas gift to all my Space Opera friends. I have finished the Galactic Guardians Box Set 5 books by Jonathan Yanez and my best read of the year. I want to say that any of the Galactic Guardians stories are a must but this box set is a delight.Yanez has gone to the top in telling SciFi with all the efforts that is unbelievable, yet we believe each word. The author used the hardest first person to tell each story and pulls it off magnificently.
Added to five stories that take place in a different universe, I am not spilling the beans by the fact that the hero is a present time truck driver abducted and trained for a job that he is not sure he can handle. So, through implanted translators, we hear all the conversations through him in present English with some problems.
There are fight scenes and aliens and good and bad on both sides, but in between the author has added a touch of humor that is not silly, but makes a battle endurable, even in outer space. Yes, when I finished the set a couple of nights ago, I downloaded the new 6th novel.
I whole hearted recommend this box set and promise you won’t be disappointed.

I like that the hero isn’t some Special Forces superhero but rather an overweight trucker who’s never been in a fight. Plus, all 5 books can be bought for a buck on Kindle.
After getting distracted by multiple fantasy books, I returned to rereading Marque and Reprisal by Elizabeth Moon. I’ll likely finish it tonight. Tomorrow a fantasy that I preordered comes out, so I know what I’ll be reading next.
I’ve been reading various fantasy books but Jerry Boyd just published Bob and Nikki book 41, titled Kid Stuff. I’m just waiting for Amazon to let me buy it.
I just finished Tiamat's Wrath, and here's my ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review. I was actually surprised I loved it as much as I ended up doing, seems the co-authors saved some of their best stuff for (almost) last. I'm curious how they wrap it all up in Leviathan Falls but that will have to wait until some point in the New Year I think.
I read Lyssa's Dream which was a solid story about two ex-soldiers who buy an old freighter who then have kids and then get caught up in some galaxy-changing shenanigans. Little did I know that this was the tip of the iceberg for a massive future history called Aeon 14 written by a few authors, created by Malorie Cooper. Not counting omnibus editions, I think it’s more than 130 books. I mean, look at this list: https://www.aeon14.com/master-book-list It’s truly impressive.
They have a cool website: https://www.aeon14.com/
So if you want to get into an epic space opera series, here it is.
Recently read (online) Showcase #15 which introduced Space Ranger. Following is my review. This issue should be included in the book Showcase Presents Showcase Vol. 1 from DC Comics. Here is my review for what it is worth.https://www.goodreads.com/review/edit...
I recently read Any Job Will Do, which was recommended a few months ago by Nathan Lowell. It was not a fulsome recommendation, just a "this is what I've been reading" kind of mention, but I thought I'd give it a try. It was okay. Full of action and not much else. Here is my review.
