OK, confession. I bought this book, fully intending to read it starting today. But I snuck a tiny peek into it a few days ago. And it was like having a warm cuddle, with just a tiny hint of conflict to come, so then I had to keep reading.Warm cuddles for the win! Loved it!
Will wrote: "Excited for this one. I’ve recently read “Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea”, which was inspired by this comfy fantasy genre book and I think others should check it out, too!"I'll be interested to see what you think, having read Tea before Lattes, like I did!
The book is tagged as romance. For those who might be turned off by that, I can say that romance is only a small part of the story.

Read this through KU back in May and I loved it very much. Great comfort read! I definitely plan to read it again at some point. Love how the author wrote and put out the book himself, then it became so popular it was bought by TOR. Wonderful to see.
I put a hold on the book in my library, but there's only 1 copy available in the entire country. I hope I manage to get it by the end of the month.
The warm and cuddliness was just a bit too much for me after about half the book. Still worth reading, but I missed having a stronger conflict.
People who have finished, please head on over to the spoiler thread to talk about your final thoughts!
Seems compact, but the character are pretty awesome!
I just picked up my copy today! I've skimmed the first few pages and I already feel like I wanna curl up under a blanket with some hot cocoa and sit near the window to read! I can't wait to dive in!
I finished this one last week. Such a cute, cozy story! A perfect read for the winter season. I’m not sure about you all, but all I wanted to do was cuddle up in a blanket with a latte and a pastry as I read this book.

I've got it on hold at our library, but I'm 15th in line. However, our consortium of 100 libraries has 13 copies available, so if one of them will send their new copy (which they don't all do) I MAY have one before the end of the month!
I'm a little over 100 pages in and I'm quite enjoying it so far. It feeling very cozy. And I really like the main character.
Fun and light. I liked the clumsy interactions among the fantasy races. Just finished some seriously dark and disturbing nonfiction, so this was a perfect chaser.
I downloaded the kindle sample for confirmation that this is not my kind of book but I'm really enjoying it, dang it! Guess I'll have to buy it now.
I just started it and it's so good! A perfect read after I just finished Kindred and a short story collection, where many stories were post-apocalyptic or exploring the theme of death.
Sebastian wrote: "I downloaded the kindle sample for confirmation that this is not my kind of book but I'm really enjoying it, dang it! Guess I'll have to buy it now."Haha, foiled! I've certainly been snared by a sample before.
I read this last month and loved the cozy vibes. It made its way as a gift to a friend. For those still waiting, I hope those library loans come in soon!
Sigh. Does not seem like something I would like... lighthearted, trite, humor that leaves me cold, not enough at stake to care about. Like those Chocolate Pot books {shudder}. But you know, it could surprise me. I might appreciate the startup business aspect, and Viv working on reinventing herself.
Two chapters in.
Yeah, if you don't like lighthearted or 'not enough at stake' I'm surprised you even picked it up. :)
I started this today. Enjoying it so far. The voice reminds me of Spider Robinson and Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon.
Cheryl wrote: "Yeah, if you don't like lighthearted or 'not enough at stake' I'm surprised you even picked it up. :)"Oh I've read much worse than this for book clubs over the years! Book clubs - both a blessing and a curse. But 90% blessings. 🤓
Five chapters in now, and it seems fine. Enjoyable.
I notice some GR reviews praise the audiobook.
