I too like that author's books
I Have Some Questions For YouJust started reading this about a week ago and really enjoying it! Also I think it's the first time I have ever bought a book on the day it was released, so I am feeling a bit like a rock star!
Here is my 4.61 rounded to 5 stars review of Cold-Blooded Liar
by Karen Rose:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Karen Rose knows how to hook readers with a prologue and keep them engaged throughout a novel. Cold-Blooded Liar , the first book in her San Diego Case Files series, is no different. It combines a police procedural with some amateur sleuthing and a hint of romantic suspense.
With my FTF BC I am reading The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict who is a favorite author of mine. I enjoy a book that's based on an actual person or events. I'm also reading The Minuscule Mansion of Myra Malone by Audrey Burges.
I've been curious about cocktails the past several months. I've just reviewed these 2:
Food & Wine Cocktails 2005: The Best Drinks from America's Hottest Bars, Lounges and RestaurantsThis is the inaugural edition of an annualized series that continued for about a decade.
My review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
And
How to Cocktail: Recipes and Techniques for Building the Best DrinksThis was published by America's Test Kitchen, my go-to source for advice on all things culinary.

Here is my 4.02 rounded to 4 stars review of A Witch's Guide to Fake Dating a Demon
by Sarah Hawley:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is a delightful, charming, and fun paranormal romance with great characterization and some deeper themes woven into the novel.
I finished Georgie, All Along
by Kate Clayborn.My 4 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Entertaining contemporary romance....pacing was slower than I expected.
Here is my 4 star review of Good Dog, Bad Cop
by David Rosenfelt: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The story captivated me with the terrifying realism of the prologue. A twisty, deeply involved, and absorbing plot kept me engaged throughout this riveting mystery. With twists and turns, the investigation builds momentum until it peaks with an edge-of-your-seat finish.
London Rules by Mick HerronFor my re-read, I listened to the audiobook. It did not disappoint. Slough House is now my comfort read series.

I know what you mean, Dorothy, but for some reason I understand the psychological creepiness in Robotham's books that I wouldn't tolerate from another writer. Perhaps it's because I like his protagonist so much. Plus, I enjoy his writing.
It would be great if people could either link a book by title as well as cover, or at least type out the name of the title. I can't see what any of the books are that you've loved so much! The apps are hopeless.
I was hoping to find an answer to What Are Mondays Good For, Anyway?, not being a fan of Mondays, and while I enjoyed the illustrations, I don't think I'd have been happy sending my kids to school with these suggestions.
2.5★ My review of What Are Mondays Good For, Anyway? with illustrations, of course
Doris Lessing showed in 1963 that it wasn't possible for even A Woman on a Roof to escape unwanted attention. I'm not sure things have changed that much in 50 years, have they?
2.5~3★ My review of A Woman on A Roof with a link to the short story itself
Here's my 3.3 rounded to 3 stars review of Missing Clarissa
by Ripley Jones:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Young adult mystery
Overall, this was intriguing, entertaining, and had an action packed ending with diverse characters. However, some of the items revealed in the interviews seemed unrealistic for adults to divulge to teenagers.
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "It would be great if people could either link a book by title as well as cover, or at least type out the name of the title. I can't see what any of the books are that you've loved so much! The apps..."I feel the same way!
The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman
This is #3 and it could be read as a standalone but why miss out on the preceding two?
My review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A classic that I somehow missed! A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle has everything I'd have loved as a young reader: kids on a quest, a mysterious missing father, magic spirits, time travel, and Evil to be overcome! I still enjoyed it now.
4★ My review of A Wrinkle in Time
Six Ostriches
is the next in Philipp Schott's Canadian vet mystery series. I enjoyed it without knowing anything about the previous book, Fifty-Four Pigs. It's an entertaining mix of ancient Icelandic sagas, cults, sacrifices... and ostriches.
4★ My review of Six Ostriches
Finished When Time Stopped: A Memoir of My Father's War and What Remains
by Ariana NeumannMy Review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/5376738164
Just finished
The Inheritance Games
It was fun, but I didn't love it. It was fast paced enough though that I didn't dread picking it back up or want to DNF it.
Super excited to start
Defy the Night
Based on the reviews I've read and the people that have raved about it, I think I will really enjoy it! It will be my first Brigid Kemmerer book but I imagine it won't be my last... but maybe that's a lot to expect given that I haven't read anything from her before haha!
sara wrote: "I finished Book Lovers and now I'm reading the unhoneymooners!"I'm pretty sure I finished the Unhoneymooners in one or two days... haha. It was so cute and fun! What did you think?
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "Six Ostriches is the next in Philipp Schott's Canadian vet mystery series. I enjoyed it without knowing anything about the previous book, [book:Fifty-Four Pigs|590..."I have not heard of this series until now but it sounds very interesting.

I have several of his books. Have you read the last book #4 in this series? I hadn't known it was out.
I am starting to read The Beach Trees
by Karen White. Haven't read any of her books in a while so looking forward to reading this.
I was pretty sure that The Bullet That Missed would actually hit the mark. Of course I enjoyed Richard Osman's unusual Thursday Murder Club of elderly sleuths. Wonderful characters, actual danger.

The writing is fluid and descriptive which helped me envision the scenes without disrupting or slowing the flow. Overall, this was intriguing, entertaining, suspenseful, and had an action packed ending with compelling characters that kept me turning the pages.
