Jessica | 7 comments I bought this book at Barnes & Noble about three years ago as a gift for a kid in my life. My brother just had a baby and I’d love to find it again but I can’t! I was sure it was called The Big Book Of Colors, but everything coming up under that name is illustrated, and the book that I remember was photography based. It had gorgeous high-quality photos of all sorts of things for each color. It was a beautiful book and I’m baffled that I’m having such a hard time finding it. Help appreciated!

Ann | 166 comments Was it a board book (the sort of thick paged book that a baby can chew on)? If so, maybe it was My First Colors by DK publishing. When I tried to search it for a link just now, GoodReads says search is unavailable, but the amazon link is here: https://www.amazon.com/Tabbed-Board-B...

Jessica | 7 comments No, unfortunately that’s not it. It was paper pages, and I remember it being quite large in size, a tall book so to speak.

Jessica, roughly how many pages in this book?

Can you give examples of what was photographed?

I copied some book details to the header/ topic title. Feel free to edit it.

Jessica | 7 comments I couldn’t really guess a number of pages, but I don’t think it was an especially thick book. It was large as in height x width. It had a lot of photos, mostly of animals and nature, grouped by colors on the page. I remember there being butterflies and birds and lizards and plants and flowers. I remember when I bought it, I found it in the like children’s reference books section of B&N, where they have the books about science and nature and historical figures and such. And it was the cover that caught my eye, though I don’t remember exactly what was on it.

Jessica | 7 comments Found it! It’s Colorful Creatures by Anita Ganeri. Unfortunately it appears to now be out of print. :(

Glad you found your book, Jessica. Here's the Goodreads link - Colorful Creatures by Anita Ganeri.

Amazon appears to have used copies of the 2016 version. A more recent edition (2021) comes with stickers.
