Tina Wilson | 70 comments I loved Fayne! I am giving it 4.5* for now. Perhaps that will go down after discussing. Without any spoilers, I found it a bit too long. The last portion of the book could have been edited a bit. Maybe the author didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters. I loved the writing, so many beautiful sentences.
There are definitely some discussions about Charles and Charlotte I want to have when everyone is ready.
Happy Reading

Allison | 2121 comments Like others I am living Fayne! I’m about 25% in. Just figured out “the condition” and have to say that I had no idea that that was the foundation of this book! Cannot wait to keep going. I’ve still got a long way ahead here… so if someone wants to start a thread where spoilers are okay, I’ll join in when ready - near the end of the summer probably.

I already have another great book to recommend to those who have loved this one, but I don’t want to give anything away. I will post it elsewhere.

Agree with others - writing and Charlotte are both fantastic!

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 120 comments Just hit a wall with Fayne. Loved part one with Charlotte. Then started part two, and realized we were back in time with Henry and Marie, and...I just don't care that much. Neither of them is really interesting, and I know where they end up.

Will keep plugging, but I hope this section isn't too long.

Wanda | 767 comments @Joanna- I can relate, I've stalled out a bit on part 2 myself. It's reminding of a line "let's skip to the good part". But the my reader guilt takes over and implores me to savor even the boring bits, so I'll keep hanging on. Is it just me or does anyone else have the dictionary on the ready for some of these old English terms? I am a reader who when I come upon a word I don't know, I look it up as part of my personal learning but this book has been a lot of new words for me :) I hope I can finish by end of summer.

Allison | 2121 comments Oh no! Disappointing! I’m still in the Charlotte section and am still loving the story.

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 120 comments Made it to part 3 and got roped right back in - even though it's still Henry and Marie, it's about the discovery of and reaction to the Condition so it's more interesting than their courting. But oh man now I'm feeling rage.

(view spoiler)

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 120 comments Finished! It lost me again a bit at the end, for a couple of reasons. But overall, a very good book that I'm glad I read.

Heather(Gibby) (heather-gibby) | 465 comments I am about 66% through, and am quite riveted by it- feeling the same as you Joanna about both issues.

Wanda | 767 comments Part 6, I am determined to finish Fayne this weekend! Then on to shorter books for awhile:)

message 64: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments Keep going Wanda!!! This is a marathon!

I’m not quite to Part 3.

Is there a thread for folks to discuss? Or is this it? That’s fine with me - I’ll look away til I’m done.

message 65: by Wanda (new)

Wanda | 767 comments Looking forward to discussing when everyone has had the chance to finish.

message 68: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments Please go ahead & start a thread so you can all enjoy a discussion! I’m just about half way. It is a big long book! I’ll join you when I can - and others too, if like me they’re working their way through.

I’m really loving it. At this point a 5-star read for sure.

message 69: by Allison (new)

Allison | 2121 comments Hi folks: I started a thread for Fayne for those who are ready to chat including spoilers.

See you there when I'm done it!

Allison | 2121 comments Just starting Part 4 of Fayne and working hard to resist the dedicated thread for the book. I can’t get enough! It’s so, so good. Looking forward to joining the chat, but not there quite yet…

Allison | 2121 comments Done Fayne! I've migrated over to the Fayne thread. Spoiler alert - I LOVED it!

At the beginning I said "at this size, it's going to take me all summer." I finished it today on Labour Day! :)
