I just finished
. I started
yesterday and am going to start
tonight or tomorrow depending on how the day goes. I found this short book for Northern in the title and will go for it next.
We'll see where we are after that. This is already more books than I typically read in a month... and it's the shortest month of the year!

I've finished two books over the weekend, and I think I'll be ablate finish one more before the end of the month.
What books are we lacking right now? I'm trying to decide my next read. It looks like we have a lot of reverses being worked on? But I can still find some that work for those if needed. The book I just finished would work for a WD4 (Not A Happy Family).

I slotted for animal and ..."The purpose of the column "Member reading" of the Feb mini tab is to indicate that you have a book for that task (but not reading it yet), so the others can see which ones are totally vacant and have something to look for. Once you start to read a book you can decide which task you want to take (in case it works for more than one), you do that by putting the book on the "Reading By" column, and now you claimed it. In the column "MINI" on the Feb log tab you put all the tasks a book works for, in case we need to move things around.
If it's too complicated just put the book you are reading in the Reading By of the task of your choice. In case we need to move something we'll ask. The glass hotel can be put in the trees task, and your name on the "reading by" column. Same with the Horse one for the animal task.
PS: I'll change the name of "Member reading" to "I have a book".

Fortunately we are down on the Reverse, but if you find another one or other WD4 that would be great.
As t is now, we only need one more reverse and the WD4, because I used your book for a reverse. But we can change it if another reverse comes along.
There's one book, logged by Lucy (I'm Glad My Mom Died), that works for both (reverse and WD4) and we can use it with one of our Draw 2, use the same book to knock both cards. That would be a master move.

Everyone must be reading good books this weekend as our chat is super quiet! I picked up audiobook
which has a fire on it as well as read by Veronica so will work as another reverse. Nice that is a short read/listen.
Looking at the mini, I have options for Twilight and Northern in the title, but will only likely get to one more book after my current reads so I put a question mark by my name for those. I'll check back in when I'm closer to starting to see which one might be more helpful.

I was commenting that I finished an alien book before the mini challenge started. So I can’t add it. But I could come up with another one if needed.
I tend to not be online much on weekends because I’m on a computer most of the day M-F. I’ll do some book updating tomorrow. Finished Deep South and Natural Evil.

I am going through the mini to see what I feel like I can commit to. I have a book for demons, & am working on an alien book.
BUT the book I had chosen for autumn doesn't have enough words to count (it's a comic book and I just confirmed on arbookfind), so I was going through the tag list and see that Ace of Spades fits for fall, as it was tagged fall 32 times. I know we have it for red writing but I am currently reading Lakewood which has red writing as well so we can easily swap it out if that works with y'all.
I have looked for a book for east/eastern and haven't had any luck finding something I can actually get to read. East of Eden surprisingly has a wait list at my library considering it's an old book.
Natural Evil is tagged Immortal exactly 3 times so I'm putting it in that slot. I don't see that claimed by anyone.I also found this short book: Tequila Sunrise
works for Sunrise in title and 4th in series so I'll hold off on putting it in a spot. I think it will also work for guarding someone/something and "warrior/soldier character"
I'm going to read Jacob next. It works for demons shelf, royalty (there's a Demon King), warrior and I'm pretty sure the guarding someone task. Hopefully it also works for a few more letter options. Do we still desperately need a reverse book?
I just saw that Lucy read A Man Called Ove & I have read it so I marked it as reverse! I will finish my demon book tonight and am not concerned about finishing the alien book.
Did we determine if for the spell out cards ex: north/northern if it had to be in the title or if the other letters in the title could spell it out? Not sure if that makes sense.
I think I can add at least one other book beyond the alien book, MAYBE two so I am just trying to figure out where to focus my attention

For the north/northern, etc., the words have to appear in the title or in the text, but not the spell out, the complete word.
The good news is that we're done with reverses, WD4, all the tougher ones.
The not so bad but to be aware, is that we need 25 books to complete our hands and we have just 7 days left. I think I'll finish tonight two of mine and I think I can make it to another three. So 20 more. We're almost there!
I'm trying to read some short books to help fill in more cards. Luckily it's our slow season and I'm getting lots of audio book and reading time.
I am slowly but surely working on my two books that will definitely be finished this month. I'm guessing I'll be able to fit in one more. I'm leaning toward the one that works for Northern over the one that works for Twilight because it is a bit shorter, but can probably still make either work depending on when I finish my current reads. I'll keep you all posted. My reading has been slow going over the weekend just because I've been busy with other things. Do we still have the 8 books from the UNO Pixie to use toward those 25 if we need them?

ok got it. are the 20 books we need all for the mini? I can shift to looking at novellas that meet the page requirement that have some of the needed words in them if that is helpful

Yes, now the priority is the mini, the cards we need are all very easy to come by.
I'm going to add some books to the spreadsheet that I am hoping to finish on time. I'll hold off on slotting them into a mini task spot until I know it'll be finished on time. That way if someone finishes something first they can claim the task. I can always put something aside for the next round. Hubby is again working all weekend which gives me more reading/listening time.
I've read Ninth House if that helps with moving some books around.

We get the points as if it was a team member.

Some of them have a name next to it in the I have a book column, I was able to use 2 UNO pixie books for two tasks, we have 6 more pixie left, I'll try to use as many as I can in the mini. I will look for the hard ones, but in case I don't find any, there is for the East, West, North tasks.

Mary, for EAST and WEST we have pixie books, we can use the last two. I can't find anything for the other tasks. For the others please confirm if we you'll be taking those tasks. I can try to find something else besides the task I have left.
I'll skip the east/west book and prioritize the tiger book. I checked out 2 more of the dragon alien books. I see alien might be covered but one works for 4th in series. Jacob works for the demon task but I'll wait and see if Sarah finishes hers.
I'll peruse the autumn and fall shelves.

If you've found a 4th in series we really need it, nothing on pixie and nobody else seems to have one. I'll take the west, use pixie for east, and you get the tiger and 4th covered, what do you think?

Ugh. OK. I'm confused now as to what to read. the post above said we needed autumn/fall. I just started listening to that book but decided to check the spreadsheet one more time. I'll read the 2 dragon alien books. They're fairly short. I need to read 3 before I can read 4. I'll cover tiger.
All teammates that don't have anything pending on the mini can continue logging for the regular cards, we still need 20 more books to finish. I used all our pixie books, but everything seems to be falling in place, just keep going 💪.

Sorry, I'm just trying to move things around so we can use all of our resources and finish the thing, hehe. I did an update above.
I haven’t added the dragon books yet. I’ll add them tomorrow. I’m going to have a lot of library books due the first week of March. I have access to the pretty much the whole State of Mass’s digital catalog
I am currently working on 2 books and will definitely finish those 2 which are already listed on the mini for black letters on the cover and birds on the cover. As I said earlier, I am pretty sure that I will only get to one more book. I do have options for both of the 2 I'm listed for "North or Northern" and "Sunset or Twilight". The one for Northern is a bit shorter so I feel more confident I would definitely get it done... but I am open to doing either. If for some reason I get a lot of reading time this weekend, I would be happy to pick up the other option too but I'm just not super confident I can finish both in addition to my current reads.

I feel good about getting those done. If I can't I will let you know. If I knock those out are we able to use the uno pixie for some of the other remaining cards?
As we're getting closer to the end of the month, I'm wondering if books we start this month, but don't finish until next month would qualify for next month's cards or if those books would be disqualified? Just not sure if the same rules apply in regards to starting the book on the first of the month. As I'm starting to think about my next reads, I'm not sure how many more I'll be able to start AND finish this month so I don't want to start them if they won't qualify for next month.

So I understood that Ashley thinks she can do the North one but maybe not the Sunset/Twilight one.
I'll be finishing my books in progress on time, but I'm not sure about the other one, the constellation.
So, Sarah, I found a constellation one for mine, and one for the sunset. Which pixie books do I remove for two of yours? You can pick from Enemies, royalty and/or warrior.
I'll have the Tiger and 4th in series one finished over the weekend. I'll have an alien one finished tomorrow as a back up for Sarah's. Should I look for a back up book for anything? I might anyway and it can just be used for cards. I probably already have them checked out already.
