1) Read my first book for this challenge: the Japanese mystery set in the 1930s, first in the series of the Detective Kosuke Kindaichi:
The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo.I had always wanted to read this but was a bit disappointed, not only by the mystery as such but also the complicated perspectives. I liked the character of the detective though and also the Japanese culture in this locked room mystery. 3 stars

2) First read of
Dissolution by C.J. Sansom for Tudor/Stuart England. It was sad and the mystery in the background, but otherwise well written. 3 stars.
4) Read the 14th in the Cadfael series,
The Hermit of Eyton Forest by Ellis Peters for Mediaeval England. 4 stars.
5) Nearly forgot to add another English mediaeval mystery,
Too Good to Hang: The intriguing medieval mystery series by Sarah Hawkswood, the 11th in the Bradecote and Catchpoll series which I love and found this one especially good. 4 stars
6) For Roman Empire I read our August read,
The Germanicus Mosaic by Rosemary Rowe. Really good, so will continue. 4 stars
7) I read
Mystery in the Highlands by Lydia Travers, third in the series, for Edwardian England. One of the many lady - maid/friend detective couples, but entertaining. 4 stars.
8) No. 10 in the great Lady Hardcastle series,
A Fire at the Exhibition by T.E. Kinsey, also for Edwardian England. Pity this one wasn´t as good as most of the others. 3 stars.
