Michaela | 69 comments 1) Read my first book for this challenge: the Japanese mystery set in the 1930s, first in the series of the Detective Kosuke Kindaichi:
The Honjin Murders (Detective Kosuke Kindaichi, #1) by Seishi Yokomizo The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo.

I had always wanted to read this but was a bit disappointed, not only by the mystery as such but also the complicated perspectives. I liked the character of the detective though and also the Japanese culture in this locked room mystery. 3 stars

I read this series, although the stories can be difficult to follow.

Michaela | 69 comments 2) First read of Dissolution (Matthew Shardlake, #1) by C.J. Sansom Dissolution by C.J. Sansom for Tudor/Stuart England.

It was sad and the mystery in the background, but otherwise well written. 3 stars.

Michaela | 69 comments 7) I read Mystery in the Highlands (The Scottish Ladies' Detective Agency #3) by Lydia Travers Mystery in the Highlands by Lydia Travers, third in the series, for Edwardian England. One of the many lady - maid/friend detective couples, but entertaining. 4 stars.

Michaela | 69 comments 8) No. 10 in the great Lady Hardcastle series, A Fire at the Exhibition (Lady Hardcastle Mysteries #10) by T.E. Kinsey A Fire at the Exhibition by T.E. Kinsey, also for Edwardian England. Pity this one wasn´t as good as most of the others. 3 stars.

Michaela | 69 comments I read several other mysteries from the 1920s or 30s England, but didn´t count them to the challenge. Though I had wanted to read one more, I see it finished by now.
