I also just watched Daniel Greene's review of Tress--I always enjoy his reviews. It was fun to hear his analysis.

(view spoiler)[ So I knew nothing about it except there were pirates. I didn't even knew Hoid was narrating AND appearing as a character. it was such a pleasant surprise and I am loving the way hoid narrates the book.

The world is fascinating with the moons and the spores and everything. The talking rat took me by surprise but he's awesome. Poor tress gets from one bad situation to the next and she isn't believed that she is not a mask haha

I'm loving the fun it makes to fairytales and not to mention the book is gorgeous. All those illustrations are amazing. I literally bought it and started one day and a half ago and I'm roughly in the middle (hide spoiler)]

So fun seeing y'all enjoying the book! The way the story played with the narrative story-telling voice and the world building were definitely some of my favorite parts.

I've just finished, really enjoyed it by the end. Gonna go back and read all the spoilers as I'm sure I've missed lots of cosmere references while i was listening.

I forgot to mentioned that I finished but I absolutely loved it. So much fun. And the ending was great. The illustrations are amazing and my favorite was the last. I laughed a lot with that one.

I agree with Charlie that I'm sure I missed a lot of cosmere references and I'm going to read the thread to see what you all picked up

I am soo super excited for the physical copies to arrive! And @Charlie, I take it you did audio? What did you think of the narrator?

so I did audio, switched to ebook then back to audio. I thought the narrator was good but I just didn't connect for some reason. I also had to listen a lot slower than I usually do for audio.

That's great! Glad it was a hit for you. I think people seem to be enjoying this overall, even if they didn't love it, which I think is great considering it's really quite different from Sanderson's other stuff.

Yeah I haven't gotten the Tress box either. Apparently there were more delays on the shipments of the books.

Yeah, I got a notification that March has shipped, but no Tress. I remember an update talking about delays with the foil embed in the covers, causing delays in receiving the book and thus shipping... I think they're still waiting for their last shipment of books...

Hah! It could happen... I keep following the Sanderson news.... The last weekly update said they got another BIG shipment of Tress books, but that it wasn't all of the books. So... and I think book 2 is all done at the printer....

Are we going to need a new thread for book 2, or keep going here? I don't believe a thread exists yet.

Just read the blurb and title for book 2... super excited... I've mostly tried to keep the books secret until just before release... not sure I ever remembered to add them all to my TBR on the spreadsheet :D
