Sarah | 395 comments Well, it's been Elly Griffiths/Ruth Galloway month so far in April for me! Here are my reviews of A Room Full of Bones (Ruth Galloway #4), Ruth's First Christmas Tree (Ruth Galloway #4.5 - short story) and The Last Remains (Ruth Galloway #15). I'm thoroughly enjoying re-reading the series for the Read-a-Series Challenge, but couldn't resist picking up the most recent book when it became available at the library!

Uneven story of Molly, who's an exceptional maid, but has trouble interpreting correctly what people say, their expressions and what they do. This results in her unknowingly involved in a murder.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager - 3.5*.

At her vacation house, recently widowed Casey watches the couple across the lake and becomes suspicious of the husband when the wife goes missing. When Casey takes things into her own hands, her antics and the twists are entertaining until the story got too far-fetched for me.

PattyMacDotComma | 820 comments Fractured Oak is an unusual and entertaining mystery with an oak tree as a key witness who can't testify. Author Dannie Boyd mixes magical realism with a good police story and it works.

PattyMacDotComma | 820 comments Aussie author Garry Disher can make even a bad guy (and Wyatt IS a bad guy) a compelling protagonist. Paydirt is #2 in the series, but would be a good read on its own. Clever plot and dodgy characters.
