Carolyn | 9840 comments Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen Gone Tonight by Sarah Pekkanen is a slow burn suspense about a young woman who discovers her mother is not telling the truth about her background and the reason she had to leave her home town.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I guess I’m an outlier with My Goodbye Girl by Anna Gomez: an average rating of 4★s on GoodReads, but I just couldn’t connect with these protagonists. 2.5★s

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments The Long Game by Ann Leckie is another quirky and still topical sci-fi short story about people and humans - two different things.

Andrea | 2164 comments Thanks to Suz for the recent review, prompting me to get hold of The No-Show by Beth O'Leary. I thought it was great, too.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Killer Traitor Spy is a very current Aussie thriller in former journalist Tim Ayliffe's Greater Good series. It's not just Reds under the bed anymore! It's a big world and it's full of spies

I love the series, but this would be just as good as a standalone.
Killer Traitor Spy (John Bailey #4) by Tim Ayliffe My review of Killer Traitor Spy

This made me realise that heist stories are better watched than read. A decent debut though.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments Every time I had to put down Sophie Green's latest novel, Weekends with the Sunshine Gardening Society, I really looked forward to picking it up again: an undiluted joy to read. 5★s

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I loved Katherine Heiny's latest book, Games and Rituals: Stories. Unconnected stories ranging from imagining who taught Ted Bundy to drive (yikes!) to worrying if your wife's Marie Kondo decluttering is going to turf you out next. (Do you still spark joy?!) Thought-provoking as well as entertaining.
Games and Rituals Stories by Katherine Heiny My review of Games and Rituals
