PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Conspirators on the Dark Web don't need someone to have an internet presence in order to target them. In Aussie author Ashley Kalagian-Blunt's unsettling new book, Dark Mode, anyone is fair game - game as in being hunted for sport. Watch yourself!
Dark Mode by Ashley Kalagian-Blunt 4★ My review of Dark Mode

After a long time, found a winner. Loved this coming-of-age historical novel that is based on true facts.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments The Turn of the Screw by Henry James: I didn’t let it defeat me, but seriously, life’s too short to punish oneself with 19th Century prose. 3★s might try the movie…

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments I wish everyone could read this and understand the value of ancient cultures and what they can offer the world. I, the Aboriginal, an autobiography, kind of ghostwritten by Douglas Lockwood, has fascinated me for decades. Aussies, especially, should learn our shared history.

Carolyn | 9840 comments Murder Off the Books (By the Book Mysteries, #3) by Tamara Berry Murder Off the Books by Tamara Berry, is the third in another good cosy mystery murder series featuring a mystery writer opening a bookshop in a small town.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I loved the first book in Joshua Moehling's addictive Ben Packard series, so I was thrilled to read #2 via NetGalley. Where the Dead Sleep is a worthy sequel and further books are definitely on my TBR. 5★s

Carolyn | 9840 comments My review for The New Mother by Nora Murphy The New Mother by Nora Murphy, which I didn't realise was going to be a mystery until more than half way through the book. The first half went on way too long about the distress a new mother with a colicky baby was experiencing. While postnatal depression is an important social topic deserving empathy, this seemed excessive for a mystery.

The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer
Warm and cuddly and mushy for the most part. A great light read despite some dark topics.

Sing Her Down by Ivy Pochoda
Not my kind of book due to its gritty violence, but I can see why this author is popular.
