My review of the rather delightful (though far too brief) Librorum Ridiculorum: A Compendium of Bizarre Books by Brian Lake

My review of
The Girls in the Snow by Stacy Green. A bit hit-and-miss with me. 3★https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Catherine Ryan Hyde“s broken protagonist inserted himself into my heart on page one of Just a Regular Boy and didn’t leave. A moving, uplifting and utterly captivating read. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This book was terrible.A license to steal by Samantha Graves

In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune
Loved this. The audiobook narrator elevates the experience even further.

However well written it is, I think I’m probably in the wrong demographic to connect with the protagonist in Amy Taylor‘s debut novel, Search History. 4★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Wonderful prose like Sebastian Barry's needs the right narrator. Stephen Hogan definitely fits the bill. 5★s for his rendition of Old God's Time.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished
Mackie and Jack by Jan William Smith.Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson is a quirky fantasy based on the Princess Bride, featuring a girl who braves dragons, pirates and the deadly 12 seas to try and rescue her Prince. Here is my review
In This Moment by Gabrielle Meyer
An imaginative continuation to the Timeless series, but not as outstanding as the first book. But it's still worth a read.

Treacle Walker by Alan Garner is a hurlothrumbo of a read, that's for sure. It's a wild world of folk and fantasy packed into a short book that was short-listed for the 2022 Booker Prize. Loved the whole experience. 😊
5★ My review of Treacle Walker
I do love a good short story. Alice Munro's How I Met My Husband, like her others, is entertaining and easy to read, but there is always more to think about - good for bookclubs.
4★My review of How I Met My Husband

White Noise by Aussie Author Mercedes MercierMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The Drowning Woman by Robyn Harding is full of ALL the twists and turns.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Hoarder by Jess Kidd was such an unexpected delight, I gave the audiobook 5 stars. It has an alternative title of Mr. Flood's Last Resort in some markets.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Patricia Wolf is yet another new voice in Aussie noir.
Outback is the first in her DS Walker series.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I DNF'd The Amber Legacy by Tony Shillitoe at p250 and it was a book I thought I would really enjoy with its unique Australia inspired fantasy setting. The story itself was fairly standard fantasy, but the way it approached romance and oversexualised the 16-year-old protagonist was enough to make me not want to continue.Full review here
Wild Card by AA Simon Rowell was a great follow-up to his earlier book, The Long Game. Anyone looking for a new Aussie crime series to get their teeth into could do a lot worse!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
3.5 stars for historical fiction
The Librarian of Burned Books by Brianna LabuskesMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Service by Sarah Gilmartin

A soothing Christian fiction about a not-so-soothing topic - people who choose to kill themselves. Won't work for everyone, but if you like this genre, it's a touching book.
