Sarah | 1543 comments Here's my review of Outback by Patricia Wolf, another great addition to the popular Australian Noir sub-genre of crime-thriller fiction. The story follows an unlikely detective duo as they investigate the disappearance of two German nationals in the dry interior of Queensland.

Sarah | 1543 comments Here's my review of Emily St. John Mandel's 2009 debut novel, Last Night in Montreal. It's a complex and somewhat unsettling narrative, with a long-unsolved mystery at its heart.

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments Of course I knew of Louis Pasteur, but I had no idea he was responsible for preventing so many diseases (not to mention first figuring out what was spoiling French wines! 😊).
Another great one for the kids (and their ignorant grown-ups).
Louis Pasteur (Little People, BIG DREAMS, 96) by Shelly Laslo 5★ My review of Louis Pasteur with several illustrations

PattyMacDotComma | 3299 comments The Short Story Club group is reading some classic short stories I've missed. I loved Nikolai Gogol's funny and sad The Overcoat, a famous Russian story, often claimed to be the best of its kind.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I love the story in Meredith Appleyard's latest novel, Becoming Beth, but I've discovered that Karyn O'Neill is NOT my favourite narrator, bringing the rating down to 4★s.
