NetGalley Books ... Just Had Approved
Christine wrote: "(-: (-: (-: Do you think there is an Amazon in heaven? Amazon.heaven"
I sure hope there is Christine. My mother and I were just talking recently that if we ever got trapped somewhere due to whatever catastrophic event, we would want to be in a library. lol
I possibly will at some point but I can't say I'm dying to read it. Got so much to read already.
Just got approved for Death Falls by Todd Ritter. That makes 4 books to read from Netgalley. Now I stop, until I have read them.
I also got Inside The O'Briens and The Bones of You. I really hope there is Amazon.Heaven too! See you all there ; )
Christine wrote: "Can't decide whether I want to read Eeny Meany or not."I'm not quite half through ... and so far, its very good.

"I looked at that book, Sean, and was tempted, but I have 4 books to read from Netgalley.
Christine wrote: "HAHA! I know, Dana, it's tough getting stuff done when so many books are screaming to be read, lol."My housekeeping agrees with that Christine.
I got
on NetGalley and others in this group may be interested as it's a psychological thriller. I'm waiting to read it until I get through a few others, as the publisher asked that I not write anything about it until approx. 1-2 weeks prior to publication in July (although others must not have been asked to do that, or they didn't notice the request, since several reviews are already posted).I was thrilled to receive these two several weeks ago and have already read - both were great (if others want to discuss Inside the O'Briens, there is a thread on another GR group which I believe is about to begin soon - let me know if interested and I can give you details)!
Also got a few others on a whim because they sounded interesting - currently reading
and going to begin this one soon:
(actually surprised to be approved for it due to the publisher being Amazon and they list several requirements).
Janet wrote: "I got Untouchable by Ava Marsh approved today."Janet, I want to read that one! Didn't know it was on NG.
Hhmmm. Has been for a bit. Toyed with the idea because sale price isn't expensive but then decided to go for it.
Janet wrote: "Hhmmm. Has been for a bit. Toyed with the idea because sale price isn't expensive but then decided to go for it."Well, it's not available here until Oct 6 and cost then will be $9.90 plus tax on Amazon. Ouch!
Do you Brits have to pay tax on Amazon purchases?
But what about Amazon orders, Janet. Like one-click book orders? We have had to pay tax for about 6-8 months now.
I've never bothered asking for out of territory requests. Assumed I wouldn't get it.
Christine will have to check but there's certainly no add on payment at checkout. The price we pay is the price we've been given initially.

I'm reading the next book Sean,
Pop Goes the Weasel. Very good so far.

I've done that a few times. The American publishers don't seem to mind we are out of their region.

You guys are lucky. We in Minnesota pay 8% tax on Amazon orders, and it adds up.
Tried to start Eeny Meeny but the copy I got from Netgalley was rather a mess. I started Chapter 1 but after 2 pages found myself at the end of Chapter 3 and the beginning of Chapter 4. It made no sense. I contacted Netgalley/publisher. Who knows?
Pat wrote: "Tried to start Eeny Meeny but the copy I got from Netgalley was rather a mess. I was a bit confused at first because it went from one subject to the next rather quickly. I had to re-read that part six times and am still confused. The rest is okay so far, except for the words Eeny Meeny or the authors name that pop up in the weirdest places. I accidentally downloaded the book twice. Maybe I should check out the other one.
That's what my copy of After We Fall was like, the title or authors name kept randomly appearing throughout. I'm wondering if that's why I found it such a confusing, muddled book. Maybe it hadn't been corrected, it was all over the place. No one else seemed to have a problem with it though.

My copy had a large 1 in the beginning and a large 4 after 2 pages so I took that to be chapters. Who knows? It's a mess and that is not a fair review to the author so I'm letting it go unless the publisher/Netgalley sends another book. I've not heard from anyone with regards to my email.
If I remember right. Somewhere on Net Galley, or an email from them, I read that the books might not be a final edit and to ignore typos etc. Eeny Meeny is only my fourth book from Net Galley so I am not an expert on how it works.

This is the same place that I was lost with. Things just didn't make sense seeming to switch between two different chapters but not marked that way. I have read on, and not had the same trouble as I did in that one area. Time will tell though.
Typos I can live with but this is so scattered the story wasn't making sense. I've done about a dozen books for Netgalley and this is the first one I've had with so many mistakes.

I tried too, but it didn't like NZ!
I do believe the NetGalley copy of After We Fall was just a draft copy. Too many plot holes, muddled paragraphs etc etc for it to be the final book. I thought I was going a bit mad reading it, being stupid, haha but now I know this happens with some of their books I'd be very interested to read the published book to see how it differs. I have Eeny Meeny too so I may just buy the actual book as I don't think it's very expensive at the moment.

I have been attempting to organize my TBR list, something I should have been doing from the start but didn't realize what tools were available for me on Goodreads. Currently at 1,612 books and I own most of them. So I've been listening to audio books while I shelve the books on Goodreads, and mark the ones I own. It might take me awhile, but at least I will know what books I actually have and what they are.
