Blimey!! Heard mixed reviews in fairness. Will let you know when done. A short story by the same author will be available on Thursday called The Affair. And it'll be free.

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Just letting everyone know that Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace,#1) by M.J. Arlidge by M.J. Arlidge is now listed on Netgallay to request for CANADA and USA.

I just finished it, and it was excellent, and I am waiting for the 2nd book to arrive.

Don't miss out.

Sue

That is a shame, as if I request this one I will not get this one, and looks good.

It was really good Sean. I am waiting for the 2nd book in the series called Pop Goes the Weasel (Helen Grace,#2) by M.J. Arlidge coming from Book Depository, and I have the 3rd book, The Doll's House (Helen Grace, #3) by M.J. Arlidge from Netgalley, that is now archived. There is a 4th book called Liar Liar (Helen Grace #4) by M.J. Arlidge , but I haven't got it yet.

Keep your eyes out for these books, Sean. The 1st one was really good.

Sue

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments If you have a Net Galley book and you don't get it read before it is archived, do you lose your opportunity to give feedback (and have your percentage go down)?

message 113: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Christine wrote: "If you have a Net Galley book and you don't get it read before it is archived, do you lose your opportunity to give feedback (and have your percentage go down)?"

No Christine. I will still be able to post my review and give feedback. This is the 1st time, I was delayed in reading a book before it was archived, but it is because I am waiting for the 2nd book, that I should have in a week , directly from Book Depository. Didn't want to read the books out of order. My % is still 92%, as I continue to read other books from Netgalley on my reading list, until this book shows up.

message 114: by Janet , Moderator (new)

Janet | 5302 comments Mod
No. Most of my reads have usually been archived. I still give feedback and my ratio climbs. Where do you all get this notion that books have to be read before they're archived?! I've seen books that have been archived come back up because it's then time to push the paperback version. How many copies of ARCs available is down to the publishers and they could be different publishers for different countries for the same book, which is quite often why authors don't know what's available and when. I asked Sharon Bolton if her upcoming book was going to be available on NetGalley, she didn't really know what it was not assumed it was going to be so.

But Janet, didn't you say the Net Galley police came after you for sitting on them so long?

message 117: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Sue, remember that book I dnf'ed last year? I removed it from my shelf without feedback and then it got archived. Do you know if there is any way to retrieve it and give feedback or can I never ever have a 100% because of making that error?

My understanding Christine is the book must be on your Shelf, in order to leave feedback. I checked on Netgalley and they said this:

You can share Feedback with the publisher for any archived title in your account. To leave Feedback locate the title in your account and click the Add Feedback button.

(If you cannot locate the title you want to review easily then use the Search on your Dashboard, under Your Titles. You can search by title, author, or ISBN and you will be directed to the title, where you can then leave Feedback.)

Yeah once at that was in the beginning. I had about 34 books on my shelf. It was a polite enquiry to which I gave a polite response. Nothing since. Out of 47 books I've given feedback on 34 I think. And to be honest there's some I'm not going to read. They were Read Now's which I regret but I can always say I tried and gave up which is highly likely.

message 121: by Christine (last edited Mar 24, 2015 07:58AM) (new)

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments It worked, Sue!!!! I was able to dredge the book up from Archived to Give Feedback and I fed back. I have one book on my shelf, After We Fall, and when I read and review that one, my score will be 100%!! Thank you!

Janet, you might be in trouble with US Net Galley. I am not sure they would continue to approve. Or is Net Galley the same across the continents? Just seems to me the UKers get approved more often than the Canadians and Americans.

message 122: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments I am glad it worked Christine. Yesterday, when I saw a book that I read recently(paperbook that I bought and already reviewed), Eeny Meeny (Helen Grace,#1) by M.J. Arlidge , I have now requested it on Netgalley so I can post my review.

DianeAlice | 142 comments Ugh, well I said I'd finally do a proper review for my next NetGalley read, So I've been trying to slog on with I Let You Go by Clare McIntosh but it's so boring I read a page then let myself get distracted by something else. I've been trying to read it for a couple of weeks. I'm going to have to DF it if I can't get it finished this week. Need to read something good!!

Christine (clt04) | 4838 comments Holy cow, DA! That one is on my before-I-die list. Janet, Kimberley and Elaine all gave it 5 stars. What is killing it in your eyes?

message 130: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 146 comments DianeAlice - have you reached the halfway point yet? When you get to the twist at about halfway the whole book takes on a new "feel".

message 139: by DianeAlice (new)

DianeAlice | 142 comments I'm past the halfway point, it's just really tedious and I couldn't care less about any of the characters. Think it's badly written, very disappointing as I was expecting to enjoy it. Maybe it's just me. The Clare Mac-in-thingy book I'm talking about. Just not holding my interest at all. Think I'll put NetGalley on hold and read the Stacey Green book now. I'm hopeful for that one lol.

Swings and roundabouts - DA has liked some books that I've hated! Tis the way it goes.

message 142: by Lynn Renee (last edited Mar 24, 2015 09:43PM) (new)

Lynn Renee | 1705 comments My first NetGalley books:

1. Forsaken Forsaken by J.D. Barker by J.D. Barker

2. Win the Rings Win the Rings by K.D. Van Brunt by K.D. Van Brunt

3. Vines of Entanglement Vines of Entanglement by Lisa Cox Carter by Lisa Cox Carter

I'm almost done with Forsaken, didn't want to put it down. The thing that is bothering me is that the book seems so familiar, like I have read it before. The publication date makes that impossible though. Won't request anything else until these are done. :)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments You're on a roll Lynn. Enjoy.

message 144: by Lynn Renee (new)

Lynn Renee | 1705 comments Where do you find your percentage? I found it once, but have not been able to find it again. Also, does anyone have a formula for a review? Like a diagram or outline?

message 145: by Sue (new)

Sue (coccotoro) | 2087 comments Your % on Netgalley, is when you click on your picture, then click on Profile, and then mine shows ie.

Recommended Feedback to Approval Ratio is at least 80%. Yours is 92%.

I don't used an outline or formula for my reviews. Write from your heart, but make sure you start off or end the review with:

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the ARC. Much appreciated.

message 146: by Dana (new)

Dana ****Reads Alot**** | 78 comments formula???? its a good idea to have a premature review typed up and write in the blanks when done reading. thats a time saver.
