Liz (liz_the_librarian) How many people had the opportunity to kick back and read during the crazy snow over the past couple of weeks? I know the weather helped me get through some titles: An Unwelcome Quest and The Night Circus.

This week, I'm going to take a look at the Bingo Card and figure out which squares I can fill in and what I need to read the rest of the year to fill in the whole card. I just started Splintered on the suggestion of numerous coworkers so that should fit under the Modern Day Fairy Tale prompt.
Splintered (Splintered, #1) by A.G. Howard

I also wanted to mix things up this week, so here is a poll about book villains. Throw your voice into the mix and let us know who you think is the evilest of villains.

Happy reading!

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments I liked the villian poll. Fun idea.
I have been slow on reading during dance competition season. I bring my book, but always end up wanting to see all the dances.
3/4 of the way through Saint Odd & still listening to Private London in the van. Not much listening w/ all the snow. Ha ha.

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments I liked the villain poll.
I haven't done much reading this past week, I came down with the stomach bug Sunday, and have been slowly getting over it. Now I've been rereading some of my comfort reads. Then I've got the new Laurie King to enjoy.
I'm listening to The Fellowship of the Rings on my commute, he's an interesting narrator, but I wish it were read by one of the actors.

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments I had a productive time, finishing Clockwork, and also Halo: Mortal Dictata. I am branching out and reading "Stolen" by Lucy Christopher. A story told from the point of view of a 16 year old girl who was abducted and taken to Australia. The book is written as a letter of memories to her captor.

Pattie Babbitt Over the snow days I read 13 YA/middle grade books and learned how to use my new Overdrive app (which I love!!). I didn't think I would enjoy reading on the phone, but it is awesome. I think my favorite reads over the snowcation were "Rain Reign" and "Brown Girl Dreaming." I am about to start "One More Thing" by B.J. Novak.
Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson Rain Reign by Ann M. Martin One More Thing Stories and Other Stories by B.J. Novak

Liz (liz_the_librarian) Pattie, I loved One More Thing! I am a huge fan of The Office and B.J. Novak's character, especially. I was so excited that his short stories were just as good, if not better, than his acting. Let me know what you think of it!

Chris, I finished The Night Circus, and I think it needs to be added to my Favorites list. It was beautifully written, and reading it was like being transported into the middle of a gorgeous black and white circus. I felt the same sense of wonderment the circus goers experienced in the book.

message 7: by Julie (new)

Julie | 130 comments I finished The Maze Runner and I'm still kind of letting it all sink in, but I enjoyed the story. I also liked the narrator (yay audio books!).

Now I have to decide if I want to start the next book in that series, or move onto something different.

message 8: by Chris (new)

Chris Francis (snowtiger64) | 45 comments Liz, with an endorsement like that for Night Circus, I will have to move that up on my list. I may pick up the audiobook for that one so I can get to it sooner.

Pattie Babbitt Liz, I really loved One More Thing by BJ Novak. Short stories are not normally my genre of choice, but his stories were fantastic.
