I will check that as soon as I can. Moving really slow today after a 20 hour day yesterday - that actually ended at 2 AM this morning.

MountainKat | 31637 comments One Sentence Audio wrote: "1. For a MPG romance book to legitimately qualify for this week's B task, does it have to meet more than 1 of the 4 B criteria, if it is not being considered as a Scavenger Hunt book? For example, if a book is classified as in the genre romance and has a bare chest on the cover would it qualify, since it would meet just the "Bare" criteria?."

For books to count for this week, they must be MPG Romance AND meet the called task of B is for Bat. So they MUST be MPG Romance AND MPG Paranormal.

One Sentence Audio wrote: "2. For paranormal qualification, can I get a ruling on "time travel" books?

To qualify for the called task B is for Bat, books must be MPG Paranormal. I don't care what kind of paranormal it is, but it has to have 'Paranormal' as MPG. To further clarify, without 'Paranormal' as MPG, your 'Time-Travel' or 'Shifter' or 'Vampires' or whatever else will not work even if those other terms are MPG.

Without seeing the specifics, I am going to say no.

That is also really close, but I will allow it.

MountainKat | 31637 comments Hey all, I am not going to get much checking done today. I keep thinking I can go all day and keep up with the littles, and I can (mostly), but I pay for it hard the next day! The gray, rainy and dark weather is not helping either - I just want to curl up under a blankie... With snow about to start, that isn't a bad idea!

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 2042 comments Ok kat this is a problem I have noticed With this Author for A History of Trouble the original has a publication date of Feb 25, 2019 and A History of Trouble a reissue has a publication date of Feb 24, 2019. It doesn't matter in this case but in another book before I brought to a librarian's attention the original had 304 pages and the day earlier reissue had 286 pages.

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, different editions often have different page counts. In this case, the date at the top of the editions page is February 25 - so you could use either edition (one with the date at the top or the one with the earliest date) and it would be correct.

MountainKat | 31637 comments Vi wrote: "Hi Mkat, I have a question.. The MPG Paranormal has to be Romance -> Paranormal or can it also be Fantasy->Paranormal? There is MPG Romance as well."

Yes, the only requirement for this date is that 'Romance' and 'Paranormal' both be MPG. They do not have to be combined.

One Sentence Audio Critic | 928 comments ⚘🤶🎄☃️🎅⛄🌲I have been experiencing problems with doing some types of postings on Goodreads for the last few hours, i.e. setting the date read on books, having trouble getting the "post" button to reply...both via mobile and laptop.

So double check your important posts and make sure they "take."

Hopefully, by the time I post this Goodreads will have resolved the problem.

Better safe than sorry.

MountainKat | 31637 comments And this is exactly why I HIGHLY recommend you do not wait until the last minute to post your completions!!

I see every round - "oops, I fell asleep and didn't get my completion posted", "got home late from dinner with friends and didn't get my completion posted" and on and on... Not to mention that GR can be glitchy at times too!

Please do yourselves and your teammates a favor and post your completions in a timely fashion and don't post them all at the last minute. It is harder on me and your captains when that happens!

Stepping off my soapbox now... 😊

MountainKat | 31637 comments Date 2 - A - Tasks: Breakdown of the qualifications for possible tasks for Date 2.

Please remember that all tags/lists must qualify IN CONTEXT!! Links MUST be provided.

Don't make more work for yourself than necessary - if the qualifier is in the title or on the cover, use it! You don't have to go searching for tags to make it work. 😊 If the link you use for the book is the same you are using for the page count and edition - say so (see above edition or something similar)! That saves us all some steps. But please double check your links!

You may use separate editions of your Scavenger Hunt books to qualify for the different tasks. Links MUST be provided.

A is for Acceptable - Read a book with an average GR rating between 3.0 and 4.0 inclusively.

To qualify for this task, the average rating for your selected book needs to be between 3.0 and 4.0 inclusively. This information can be found on the main book page under the title. Please include the average rating in your completion post. If the average rating is likely to change over the course of the date, i.e. the book is new or has few ratings, it might be advisable to take a screen shot. Also, if your rating is significantly higher or lower than the average, perhaps wait to rate the book until after the date ends.

A is for ??? - ???

To be revealed when the date begins.

A is for Antagonist - Read an enemies to lovers romance.

To qualify, the title, series title, precis, tags or lists need to indicate that the selected book is an enemies to lovers romance.

A is for Autumn - Read a book initially published in a fall month.

To qualify, the selected book needs to be initially published in a fall month - September, October, November or December of any year. Make sure you use the initial publication date! If there is a date at the top of the editions page - USE IT! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification.

message 76: by MountainKat, Moderator (last edited Dec 15, 2022 08:07PM) (new)

MountainKat | 31637 comments OK everyone - I am going to be away tomorrow and will not be home to end the date. I will be relying on the GR time stamp to confirm that posts have been made before the date ends.

‼️ PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO POST YOUR COMPLETIONS!!

The deadline for corrections will be extended until Sunday because I will not be checking any posts made between now and when the date ends until some time on Saturday.

MountainKat | 31637 comments Grace wrote: "I feel like I should know this, but for Acceptable, but if the book has a 4.0 rating, it is good to go, right?"

Yes - the range is inclusive, so both 3.0 and 4.0 will qualify. Along with anything in between.

Sorry I didn't get to this in a timely manner. The answer was no though - the task requirement was MPG Paranormal, without that the book would not qualify.
