I'm on the fence with this one. It looks like a narrow street in an European village. It is only one lane, so it's a little hard to have "lanes" clearly marked. It looks to me that the street is bordered with gutters as apposed to line painting, so I'm going to say no. I don't think it quite meets the criteria. Sorry.
cool! I did have another book slotted for this task but I bought this series during the audible sale and I hoped it would work :)

If there was any arm twisting, it was by no means intentional. I'll be reading (listening to) the book anyway, but being able to use it for completing a task makes me look forward to it even more. ;)(Here is the image in a large version:

for the task about the Himalayans - does the book need to be set in the mountains or just in one of the listed countries?
It needs to be set in one of the listed countries. Note that Tibet was annexed by China, so if you chose a book set in Tibet, consider it part of China.
Sorry for being a nuisance. . I am doubting myself here... are the lanes visible enough for task 10?

"You can see the line painting that designates the edge of the lane, so you are good to go.

Would this work for lanes on cover?"
No, sorry. There doesn't appear to be any line painting on that laneway.

ooops thanks Janice! I'll look for something that has already been approved lol!
Before I struggle some more with my current book,
I thought I'd better ask whether tarot cards are actually even considered to be playing cards?
Otherwise I'd DNF the book...
Janice wrote: "Quick, get a good book and DNF this one. I'm planning on reading Cards on the Table for this one."I am on board with your ruling Janice but I do have to say that I totally used to play solitaire games with my tarot cards lol :)
The Playing Card task seems to be jinxed for me. I went through this thread and through all the individual challenge reporting threads to look for books others had read for this task. There were few that interested me from what the blurb said - and now one of them (Peg and Rose Solve a Murder) was a DNF after only three chapters.
(Having read all the Poirot novels sometime in the 1980's, I am leaving a re-read of that one for last, in case everything else fails.)
Well, I did find something and am now about halfway through
. I started on the Fethering series a few years ago and read the first four books. This one is #6. Having no memories whatsoever of the first four books might be a plus in this case - the main character is a rather annoying person. But I'll definitely finish this one!
