One of my students is desperately looking for a book she read about 3 years ago. In the story the main character, Carrot, loses her father and brother in a plane crash. It turns out the father impregnated Carrot's best friend's mother before he died. Carrot later finds herself on a beach and meets an older man who becomes important to the family.
