I like the idea of reading those books that didn't win the poll for the monthly selections. I might be able to pick up on less popular or well known books.

I have tried to look for authors with last names beginning with "Q" and there are even less than for XYZ! I'm really stretching it here for John Quincy Adams.
Someone else asked Bob about the "Q" category and he said "I see no reason you can't add Q to the exemption, it is your challenge, no stress, just have fun."(This is in the original Buffet categories and rules thread).
So I think you're off the hook for "Q" -- if you want to be ;)

I don’t see a problem with John Quincy, if you really have interest in the book. Don’t read it just to fill a letter. Personally, I have used Zane Gray for “Z” and I sleep guilt free. Have fun, happy reading.
