I searched in German (being born here in Germany it is my first language).
There are a lot of books, but nothing currently with a nuclear war, some deal with pandemic virus or bacteria outbreaks and the society developing after that.
Additional details may help, even the date or name of the radio show (which may still be available as a podcast).
Is it a new (current or future) book? Often in these shows they get ARC's to talk and promote the book.

It was definetly a new book or newly translated.
I amnot 100% sure about the nuclear part, but definetly global post-catastrophy!
I also checked podcasts but didn’t find anything.
:(

Martin, can you tell us anything about the main character(s)? Is this book written for adults and/or teens?
Examples of how people have no privacy?
Long shot - BULB by Bradley Wind?

In the book discussion the people make referenced to George Orwell and also pointed out the obvious similarities to Chinese society.
I am not 100% sure, but I think it took place after a nuclear war. In any case it was a situation that was challeniging for peoole to live outside of a society that gives stability. It was pointed out tgat people were willing to gice up some rights in order to have a stable/safe life.
In German the title was a single word. I vaguely remember that it had something to do with acceptance, giving up something.
Hope that somebody gets an idea!
Thanks in adnvace!
