Charlotte | 6 comments I read this book around 2012-2013 I think roughly. I recall that the cover has either a white or very lightly colored background with illustrated creatures of a great variety. There might have been some green there as well.

I don't really remember any plot details, but from what I remember it was more of a general adventure, where the narrator (I think the narrator might have been a young child) was exploring this world of different creatures, there was no technology in this book mentioned, I think most of the other characters were not humanoid. I have the impression that the world was overall somewhat peaceful and did not have large wars. I do not think that the title was excessively long and I believe that the author was male.

I put adult novel in the title, but I think it might have been also found in children's section as well.

The book was quite thick and long overall, almost 2 inches in thickness, I think the book was also decently old when I read it. It was also a hardcover, full half paged sized book. I do not think that this book was very popular, but when I read it, I checked it out from my local public library so I don't think it could have been too obscure. I also think that it was a book in a series, I remember that it was in a trilogy for some reason, but it may have also been a longer series. I only read the first book.

I know this is a bit of a crapshoot, I don't really remember many details of this book but I've been trying to figure it out for a while now! I'd really appreciate any suggestions or potential titles!

Charlotte, what makes this a fantasy novel? I'd guess it's not sci-fi since no technology is mentioned.

I copied plot and book details to the header/ topic title. Feel free to edit it.

Charlotte | 6 comments Hi Kris, I would say this is a fantasy novel since the creatures weren't remotely close to existing animals, and the world is depicted as one different to our own. I think one of the main creatures is analogous to Jabba the Hutt. Thank you for the edits to the header!

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Hi Charlotte, you mention the narrator was exploring this world of different creatures - was the narrator a character from our world that went through a portal to this world of fantastic creatures or was it their own world they were exploring?

Charlotte | 6 comments Hi SBC, I believe the narrator was a human child that was exploring a world other than his own, I'm not sure if a portal was involved.

Charlotte | 6 comments Hi Michael, I don't believe that's the book I'm thinking of. Thank you so much for your suggestion though!!
