Part of a series- early on in the series. It is a fantasy or other world historical book as I remember horses and castles. She needs to connect with the whole harem to strengthen it. They might be brothers(princes?). Searching for magical items and learning more about her origins. The harem member that dies - I think they fall off a cliff or are on a bridge and the bad guys are close- he has been fighting the bond- but has an epiphany right before the death…..
Their connection and the magical items might save them all…???

I believe The Bonds that Tie is the series you are looking for and book four Forced Bonds (The Bonds That Tie, #4) is where Nox sacrifices himself to save his brother who is another bond in the group. Forced Bonds
