I am all about the creepy vibes and I just finished a revisit of The Call of Cthulhu by H. P. Lovecraft. Something about how writers of the time are able to use such versatile and diverse descriptions for even the mundane portions of their stories never ceases to fascinate me. In the same company as Algernon Blackwood, William Hope Hodgeson, and many others, this kind of writing always gets me in the spooky mood.
I just finished Under the Dome, which I thought was excellent and had one of the most diabolical bad guys I have ever witnessed in a story, oooof! I am currently reading The Initial Insult by Mindy McGinnis. It is deliciously Poe-like, and this quickly became an author who I read will anything from, so I am pumped for this one!
I am currently reading False Witness by Karin Slaughter, So far, it's good. She's got some seriously spooky vibes going on. Can't wait to see what happens next. Not sure what to read next. We'll see.

What are you all reading this week? Any you'd recommend? I'm still in the middle of the The House Next Door. Things are starting to move and the creepy vibe is becoming more pronounced. I can't wait to find out what is actually going on. I also started The Department of Rare Books and Special Collections. I'm not super far into it (maybe 30 pages) and while it's not quite what I was anticipating, I'm enjoying it.
Tell us what you are reading!
