It is a book (two in the series) about a teenage girl who wakes up from surgery in hospital (appendicitis?) and develops special abilities (when she touches people, she can see their death/can tell very personal things about them). She then goes to a mall with friends, and brushes past a young hansome man who she talks to and the information she gives him stops him from dying. He ends up kidnapping her (he is a very wealthy assassin) and uses her abilities to help his career. He gets her to stay and help him by threatening to kill her parent/s. He then develops feelings for her (not hugely explored in detail). It is a young adult fiction book, published within the last 10 years. I read it this year or last year.
