That's what I was thinking. It was a total knock off of the Breakfast Club.

One of Us Is Lying (One of Us is Lying, #1) by Karen M. McManus One of Us Is Lying

Even if it is not your book (imho this is a popular trope), I really liked it and the following book, so from me that is highly recommended, 5*.

Capn | 3506 comments I stumbled upon The Breakfast Museum, which was also so highly derivative of The Breakfast Club, that I thought I should mention it. Not sure how likely it is, but it belongs in this thread... ;)

Kat (tadpoledrain) | 540 comments Free the Conroy Seven? It's older, though. And (as you can probably tell by the title), there are seven students, not six.

Kat (tadpoledrain) | 540 comments (Also now that I'm thinking about it, they're not actually in detention, they're all called to the principal's office and made to stay there together for most of the school day. But the feel is similar.)
