Well, I learned my lesson with that one. It had 11 users on the main page when I posted and it was third from the bottom but not now :0(
In the future I'll confirm all the genres.
I'll have to read something else for the points and will use this book for a different task.
Sorry about that, Sandy.

I listened to a CD set of Diary of a Young Girl-
but the author on Goodreads says Susan Adams-
But it is linked to all the mass market paperbacks that
say the author is Anne Frank.
Can I still use this even though the author is stated differently???
Thanks-
Anne Frank The Diary Of A Young Girl

You might want to check it a couple more times - things change, and genres come and go as more people read the book and shelve it differently. If the genre comes back, then lock it in in the genre verification thread, and post again.

I was asking here because I was going to post
the book for points and was afraid I'd get
called on it here.
Thanks for your help.

I can't believe it, but its back, lol!
Never mind, I've already picked something else and claimed the points for another task :0)

that would depend on what task you're trying to use it for. I don't see anything about it that would make it generally unacceptable for SRC purposes.
If your question is about its suitability for a specific task, I'd suggest asking in the help thread for that task. In general, though, keep in mind that we go with what is listed on GR - we don't override that.

I have to link to the mass market paperback
because I listened to the CD.
But the CD has a different author than the
books-- which say Anne Frank.
I wasn't sure if it was acceptable generally-
because the authors are listed differently-
it's the same book- and it links to the
Anne Frank paperback.
I hope that makes sense.

Oops, thanks Sandy, I will fix and repost.

I was counting up my points and we have a discrepancy of 15 points. I count that I should have 295 points and you have me down for 280 points.
Do you have both my 15 point tasks marked?
15.9 Post #861 Book Burial Rites
15.10 Would I Like to You? Post #1743 Book Whiskey and Charlie?
Trying to make this easier to figure out. I have completed 7 of the 5 point tasks, 3 of the 10 point tasks and the above 2 15 point tasks. I am assuming you don't need to know my 20 and 30 point tasks as we are not off by that much.
Thanks so much. Sorry to bother you. I checked for messages where I might have made an error and needed to repost. All my errors I reposted and corrected.

As far as I can see, 280 is correct.
5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9, 10.6, 10.9, 10.10, 15.9, 15.10, 20.3, 20.4, 20.8, 20.10, 25.1, 25.2, 25.8, 30.7. See post 405 above for 20.5.
Since you don't include a total in your posts, I can't tell if perhaps you've mis-added, nor can I make sure that your total and mine agree each time you post.

If your book is an ebook with no print version, you must have it approved for length before posting in the ebook page verification thread: Ebook page verification in General Help.
Your post must include the line number of the approval in the ebook spreadsheet or a link to the post in which the ebook was approved for length.

Task 25.8, option 2, requires that "War" be a standalone genre."
Okay, I guess I'm confused. The task says, of course, that War should be stand alone not embedded. I thought that 'embedded' meant anything after the > (so for this book: War > Military - Military is the embedded genre.)
So I thought anything either with no > or the word in front of the > was the standalone genre. From your post, I'm guessing it's only genres with no > at all that are standalone.
What is the term for a genre with a > in front of it? (So for this book - War > )
Is there a term? I looked through rules / clarification threads and couldn't find the answer.
Thanks!
(I will repost with a qualifying book - I'm not disputing the ruling, just clarifying for future tasks.)

Although the number and title of the task you provide is 25.1, the description of your books fits 25.2, so that is what I've recorded. If this is correct, no need to repost.

Thanks. That part, I get now. I'm trying to figure out what it's called if for example the genre is:
War > Military
I know 'Military' is an embedded genre.
What is 'War'? Is that also called embedded?

All posts, including reposts, must include links to the books read. If you are trying to work from your old post, copying it will not copy links.
To start with the previous post, find the post, click "edit" under the post. Then copy the post while the edit screen is up. That will preserve formatting. You can then paste that into a new post and edit the new post to fix the previous problem.

When choosing the paper edition for establishing page count for an ebook, you must use the top MMPB, or top paperback, if no MMPB. For Love... From Both Sides: A Laugh Out Loud Romantic Comedy, there is no MMPB, and the top paperback edition has 280 pages.
The top paperback edition of Happenstance 2 has 128 pages.
Please see The Rules of the Challenge rule 7, for the method of determining the appropriate paper edition to use for page count when reading an ebook or audiobook.
This book combination does not meet the 500 page minimum.

While it is fine to include more than one task in a post, the tasks must be listed in numerical order, lowest to highest. See the Posting Requirements and post #1 in the Completed Tasks posting thread.
Also, please note that for 20.3, option 3, the book must not be a re-read and you must state this in your post. And, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has the main page genre of "children." Please see the Rules of the Challenge for the use of childrens books.

For task 25.1, both books must be by a sole author - the task specifically states that if there are multiple authors (including illustrators) on the GR page, the book will not work for the task. Constantine, Vol. 1: The Spark and the Flame lists 2 authors and an illustrator, so will not work for this task.

Just an FYI - when looking for the date a book was first published, you need to look back to the original publication date. The Thirty-Nine Steps was first published in 1915, not 2004.
In this particular case, it makes it even better for fitting the task requirements! However, you should keep this in mind for other tasks.
