Task 10.8 requires that "The word "Viking" MUST appear in the GRs metadata under 'Published by.' " In Dubious Battle does not have any reference to Viking."

Oh, my gosh -- I confused penguins and vikings and they are not even close to the same thing;)! I'll find another book!

Task 20.4, option one, requires that there be "exactly" two people on the cover. In Dubious Battle by John Steinbeck appears to have 3 people on the cover.

5.10 - Heart of the Storm appears to only exist in ebook form. You must have it approved for use in the verification thread and include the post number or googledoc line number.

It doesn't matter that you're trying to use it for a shorter book - the book still has to be long enough to be used for that purpose.

Gaaah, I always forget about that part. Fortunately I got an easy fix on my TBR list.

Task 5.2 requires that you read a book with a 9 letter word in the title. "Paddington" has 10 letters, so this book will not work for this task.

Meanwhile in San Francisco: The City in its Own Words has the genres sequential art and comics on its main page.

Non Fiction 11 users
Art 8 users
Sequential Art > Graphic Novels 7 users
Travel 5 users
Sequential Art > Comics 4 users
Sequential Art > Graphic Non Fiction 2 users
Adult 2 users

Please see the Rules of the Challenge:

"5. Books whose main page lists any of these genres: Sequential Art, Comics, Comic Book, or Manga may only be used for 5, 10, and 15 point tasks unless specifically allowed in the task description for a higher point task."

Task 30.7 does not specifically allow the use of these genres. Also, from looking at the "look inside" of this book on amazon, it appears to be primarily sketches, with very little written content, so it is not a book that would work for the SRC.

As you note in your post, To Hope and Back: The Journey of the St. Louis has AR Bookfinder ratings of IL: MG - BL: 6.0 - AR Pts: 6.0.

This does not meet the required criteria for use of childrens books for SRC purposes. Please see the Rules of the Challenge rule 4. "d) Books that have an IL designation of MG MUST ALSO have a BL of 5.0 (or higher) AND AR Pts of 7.0 (or higher). "

Marina H post 1252

You initially linked to The Fellowship of the Ring, which has 398 pages. You then linked to another edition, with >500 pages. From your post, it is not clear what edition you actually read, or why you are linking to two different editions.

You need to link to the edition that you actually read, as this is the edition on which page numbers are based. The exception is if you used an ebook or audiobook, and are linking to the MMPB edition to establish page numbers.

You linked initially to both - we don't go back to look at edits to post, but if one of these editions was the one that you actually read, you can just explain here. Otherwise, you need to repost.

While large type books may be used for the challenge, the MMPB or paperback editions must meet the minimum page requirements. It does not appear that any edition of 20th Century Ghosts except the large type edition meets the minimum page requirements for this task.
