R22: Team #7 ~ 007 Readers

Sounds very toxic to me; you need to run, very fast to your mothers' place."
It has been toxic, and has taken me way to long to get up my courage. But our house went into escrow and I realized that I just couldn't buy another house with him across the country from all my support. He's out of the house now, which he wouldn't be if we weren't selling, so we can finish up what we need to.

Review
Undead Waltz begins straight after Undead Heart, so Grier is still slightly devastated by the events of the previous book but is slowly coming to terms that she may have dodged a bullet with Boaz's betrayal, but still can't stand Amelie and may never get over her BFF's betrayal.
Linus moved to Wooly, so Amelie could move to the Carriage House, so Grier doesn't have to see her all day and night. And a Coming Out (as Dame Woolworth) Ball is recommended by Linus to find out more information about Grier's heritage and maybe what happened to Maud.
We have archers attacking both Hood & Linus, vamps attacking Grier, Lethe is becoming the new BFF, Neely sends dress & accessory info & makes a surprise appearance the night of the Ball, to do face & hair, Woo Hoo.
Is it the Vampires? Is it her family? Is it someone else? What happens at the Ball?
Loved how close Grier & Linus are becoming and how Grier is learning more about her magic.

Rose is back home to start her life as a witch. But she is missing her boys and discover there is something more than friendship going on. But the drama from home is keeping her busy while she tries to uncover the secrets there.
Good start to the series.

Weird question, I know. But I’m listening to Order of the Phoenix, so my copy has the Ministry of Magic scene on the front, but Hogwarts is definitely haunted. If it works, this will be my re-read for this round.

How's everyone else going :)

Review: The Cassandra Palmer series is entertaining. It's my current go-to audio for it's consistency and entertainment. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is witty, and the angst is a good level.

I remember really enjoying them, but they get progressively more involved.
Have you read any of the Dorina Basarab series, set in the same world, some characters overlap, first one

I haven't. My library has a bunch of the audios via Hoopla, and they've fit so many challenges so far!

Will do!

Have I missed anything?

Shelf: Haunted House
Book: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Date Read: 10/29
Rating: 5 stars
How it fits: Hogwarts is haunted by multiple ghosts and at least one poltergeist.
Review: As I get older I find that I prefer the longer Harry Potter books (book 4 and on), even though they are certainly more series in nature. But of those last 4 books, this is my least favorite. Harry is very whiny in this one. I'm not saying he doesn't have reason to whine, but this is the book in which it most believable that he is a teenager. Someone with more maturity could have prevented many of the problems in this book simply by talking to people. So overall, while I enjoy the book, I don't care for Harry's attitude in this one. But Hermione really begins to come into her own starting in this book. She is maturing wonderfully, and showing bravery and steadfastness.

I'll do so this morning.
And our new shelf announcement is Paranormal Romance :)

Review
This story was made up of previously published novellas & shorts, but made a consistent story of Miss Mia Brandt, Magical Metal Worker & Mr Leander Fabian, Necromancer (formerly known as Andrew).
Mia, has suffered trauma in the past, when townspeople burnt down her house, think pitchforks & flaming torches, and her father was seriously injured. So they moved across the country to somewhere they aren't known.
Her neighbour, in the big black castle, is a Necromancer and tries to engage her in discussion, but she is determined to hide away from people. Leander sends one of his "people" (sewn together like frankenstein) and Mia can't abide the poor way the person is put together so decides to redo the stitches. Next night a bunch of "people" arrive on her doorstep.
He wants more than she is willing to give, but he is prepared to bide his time.
Some adventures to a Necromancer's Ball; a trip to Larimont on behalf of her father; secret stairs in the Larimont Opera House; and the obligatory Purity bunch of Politicians & soldiers who want to do more than pitchforks & flaming torches. Things get even more interesting when the Larimont Purity group come to Mia & Leanders' town.
I really enjoyed this taste of Mia & Leanders' romance and this spooky book was a good non-horror read for Halloween.

Review:
She bought a haunted house to flip and she is a ghost hunter. This book started off slow and got a little better. She found someone dead and the town gossip kept her up to date on what the police were doing because they were not paying her any attention and didn't seem to care about her or solving the case. There are a lot of crazy and strange characters involved in this story.

I decided on

When Steph stamps, there is a big red stamp on the Stamp Request thread. Till then patience, grasshopper :)

Lovely sunshine, BFF, sculptures ok, very windy, we go every year and make a day out for the 2 of us. The water looked gorgeous with green & blue, little to no waves though :)

Review: I found this to be enjoyable, but not a "must read". I'll pick up the next one when it fits a challenge, but I won't go out of my way to read it. On the plus side, I do think the narrator does an excellent job and really makes the experience for me!

Havana broke it off with Tate and his cat realized that they made a mistake. Now he will go through all the stops to get her back. But in the process Havana is being hunted by someone who wants her no matter the costs. Her life is in danger and now Tate realizes that she is his even if she don't. They have ex's that are causing drama because they want what is no longer theirs. Good story and shows you that when you are meant to be with someone, you will work it out no matter what you have to go through to get there.
