20% in and the introductions have been made. A lot of characters, but I rather like it so far.

I got to where they start day 1 and I can't make myself go on! LOL. I'm scared for them. I have a busy day ahead, but I'll pick up again when I'm home this evening. If I'm brave enough! ;-)

It's very true, Michelle! I feel every emotion with the characters. I'm such an emotional reader. Which is why I'm also fine with slow burns. It winds my emotions up slowly instead of dropping all the terror on me at once! lol.

I'm at Day 3 now. I have a suspicion about the "seeker(s)" which I won't even share as a hidden spoiler because I don't want to potentially spoil it for anyone. I want to wait until I'm done reading it to see if I'm right!

I also want to know how this sport company is tied to it all. It can't be good for them to host an event like this. Hopefully that will be answered as well ...

I did a HUGE chunk of reading yesterday. I'm at 70% now.

(view spoiler)[The way the "game" works has been slowly revealed, but the thing hunting them is still a bit of a mystery. I have mixed feelings about books that don't let you know what the big scary thing looks like until late in the book. I like the suspense of waiting. But waiting until the last quarter of the book seems a bit too long to me. (hide spoiler)]

I hope some have read far enough to see this spoiler and share your thoughts! Otherwise, I'll be happy to wait and see what you all think when you get there! 😁

I'm at 67%, Theresa, and I feel a little disheartened to go on, (view spoiler)[because this dragging has gone very long and I kind of lost interest at this point. I'm afraid the author is preparing us for a melodramatic killing of Brandon, and it feels a little obvious, like so many other things. I will finish though, I'm kind of curious how it will end. Right now, Libby is saying less than 8 weeks, but hopefully people will take pity on me and I will get it sooner. It does not look like I'll get it in time for this months read, but I'll post comments when I finally do get the darn thing!

Feel sorry for me, but not too sorry; I have over 1100 books on my TBR so I have plenty of options to read.

solid 4 stars because I love messed up character trauma and accurate handling of it. I don't usually get emotional during books but a certain death had me tearing up
