Fall 22 Readathon: Team Cranberry
Hey folks! Can't wait to get started. These challenges have put me in such a cozy fall mood, despite it still being pretty hot outside.

We've got rain and some 60 degree days coming through the weekend so I'm pretty excited. Back in the 80s after that though but I'll take what I can get!

Supposedly rain for the weekend which may mean the softball and soccer games I would attend won't happen.

Great to see that several of you have put books on the planning tab. That gives us a view of which cornucopias we have covered and where there is overlap.

Hello everyone, (I am ditching my AP Lang class to say hello. They are comparing presidential speeches in groups so I am not needed.) I am in Houston and excited for the week. I have several books that will fit into these prompts and will write on the spreadsheet this evening when I get home. Guess I should go help with speech analysis. Looking forward to a great reading week.
Ok I added 3 books to the spreadsheet. I saw we didn't have much for Orange cover so I pulled a book for that. My next read
could potentially cover several slots. I'm excited to get started!

Emily, Lois' post raises a question. Can two different people read the same book for different prompts? I have Carrie Soto is Back slotted for the sports prompt. Lois is right it fits a number of prompts... and I hadn't even thought of it for orange. I guess that is my TN background that thinks of the University of TN orange where I hear orange.
Kelly, Lois' post raises a question. Is it okay for two people to read the same book.. but count it for different prompts? I am reading Carrie Soto is Back and thought I would use it for the sports prompt. Lois is right, there are several places it could go. As TN resident, I think U of Tennessee orange when I see orange, but the book surely fits there too.

I'm reading Cop Town for Orange but Carrie Soto fits several others, including Yellow. :) And Edie, we should totally talk about Carrie Soto as we read! I'll probably start it tomorrow as I'm almost done with my current read.

Hello from Minnesota! I haven't been able to read much for the last few weeks, so looking forward to getting back on track during the read-a-thon! I'm in the middle of The Bone People which has been a slow read but started to go a bit faster the last couple nights, so I will continue that one and add a few shorter/faster ones during the week.

I played tennis in college (D3) and was surprised to find Carrie was a tennis player.

My husband keeps springing things on me for today but I'm hoping to squeeze in the last 120 pages of The Westing Game today (lol it's only 180 pages long..).

Finshed my 1st book, The Final Gambit and put it in the Red cover slot on #2. The spreadsheet showed that as the least amount of possibles but can be changed if needed. I am going to start Sugar Cookie Murder for food on the cover.
I have company here, so I probably won't finish anything today. I'll have some pages though. I'll have at least one book finished for tomorrow. Go Cranberries!
I finished Sugar Cookie Murder. It was a super fast read! I am going to put it as "Food on the cover". It has a couple of other places it could go but that seems the least popular. I am starting Unwind and hope to finish by this evening.
Hey, it's a bit of a busy day for me. I had a funeral this morning, and there's a big football game this afternoon, so I'm doing just a quick check in and then I'll probably do more late tonight.I'm reading My Wedding Dress: True-Life Tales of Lace, Laughter, Tears and Tulle which will work for the black and white cover, I think.

As a team we have books slotted that will fill each one of the cornucopias at least once... and some multiple times.I couldn't put Carrie Soto is Back down and thanks to a rainy afternoon, just finished it, using it for the book that features sports prompt. I know Lois is reading this too and there are are several other prompts it will fit.

I just finished
and I slotted it into +400 pages. We could move it to Family Drama or mystery/thriller if I needed. I am a huge Karin Slaughter fan so I really liked it. It talks about Covid times alot. It takes place in 2021 I believe. I had started it closer to the beginning of the year and had to stop it but I was ready to deal with the references this time. And loved it. Do not read if you don't check trigger warnings.

Do you want me to fill it in on the cornucopia 1 tab? I believe, until we finalize a cornucopia, we will have the option to move it.
As you finish books, please mark them finished on the spreadsheet. I just now realized that I hadn't done that for the book I finished.
Do we mark them on the Plan Tab? Or just the Completed Tab?
I did not finish any books today, but I did make progress on both The Pageant of Chinese History andKeys to the Demon Prison. I will have a bit more time to read tomorrow, so hopefully, I will finish at least one book.
I just moved my whole column to the completed Tab. That book is no longer on the plan tab. Then I added the title into the correct Cornicopia tab. Are you all comfortable doing that? I can do more of the spreadsheet moving if I need to. Let me know what you think.

Each book read may only be used for one prompt per team challenge. Don't forget about your acorns! You get some for every 1000 pages read (or 15 hours of audio listed to).
ACORNS
- Earn an acorn for every 1000 pages read as a team.
- Earn an acorn for every 15 hours of audio listened to.
Note: Acorns must be accrued to fill the cornucopias. Once you complete a cornucopia, those acorns should not be used on future cornucopias.

- Accrue 3 acorns +
Complete all four prompts:
- A book with a majority orange cover
- A book that is 400+ pages
- A book featuring an animal in the story
- A book that was published in the fall (September, October, or November)

- Accrue 3 acorns +

- A dystopian novel
- A book with a majority red cover
- A book with a person's first name in the title
- A book set in or about nature (forest, camping, environmental literature, etc.)
