this book was fantasy, a kid visited another world, I remember that science essentially did not exist in this new world, but in a later book, one of the goblin like creatures started to develop technology and science, to essentially start becoming a capitalist
i dont remeber much else about it apologies, just that this world had magic and a lot of different fantasy creatures, I vaugly remeber a jinn at one point, but this may have been confused with another book
