SOLVED. YA Fantasy. The main character was a teenage boy with the cursed ability of teleportation. The book was set in the time period of blacksmiths and Kingdoms. Read this book about 4-5 years ago. [s]

In this world some people have special abilities and some of those abilities are considered cursed. The mc was born with the cursed ability of teleportation and his entire life consisted of him being scared of people seeing him use his power. The mc’s father who was a blacksmith, absolutely hated him because of it so he decided to send the main character to slave away in a mine. During his stay in the mine the mc started using his teleportation to make gathering and bringing back ore easier and he gradually became comfortable and less scared of using his power. After leaving the mine he met a dangerous misfit group of people that liked to hang out in a bar and decided to join them. I think during the climax the mc teleported into the palace of some corrupt royal because he was fed up of them and wanted to know what these people were doing in the palace but he got caught by a royal after sneaking in and ended up accidentally killing royal with his sword which made him feel awful because I think that was the first person he killed and also because he was scared the other royals will find out about him and his powers. If I’m not mistaken the palace was literally impossible for any outsider to enter because it was pretty high up but because he could teleport it was an issue. If it helps on the book cover the mc was holding a blade and it looked like he was phasing into a shadow with some green mist surrounding him. I’m not sure but I think they called the ability either blink, shift, or jump.

Edit: You didn't say genre/age in the header (YA?), so I assumed it was middle-grade/YA fantasy, given the age of the protagonist... or was it for adults?
