Thanks Stephanie!!! I appreciate your help.

So much has been going on here I just can't keep up. My grandson had surgery yesterday so I've been helping with watching the other grandkids for this past week. My son has surgery on Monday. And I've been dog/house sitting for another family member. Hopefully things will begin to settle down for October and I can read and focus more on tracking ingredients. Right now I'm just reading in small time frames.

They have been working on our internet service so we have been without service for periods of time lasting 1-8 hours at a time. Last night it was down for 7 hours.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments I haven't been on GR this weekend or much the past few days but have been reading. Will do updates soon

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments Looks like we were in 10th place after last month's score. I am not sure how they figure out to give tips to and who's "still hungry" on the status sheet. I know we under-read a bit as well. I have a feeling this will be a stronger month with book volume. I read a lot this week and will start planning some of my meals soon.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments Ah, I see. Looks like it's the adults that tip, and it's based on your status on the spreadsheet, so that makes sense. Solves the tipping question for me.

Fresh Food from round 1 not consumed
Fresh food not used will be rotten unless you received tips from adults to preserve.
The amount of tips you have from round 1 is directly attributable to your "Look at the crowds!!" Place.

Place Tips
Top 3 20% of adults tipped

4-7 15% of adults tipped

8-10 10% of adults tipped

11-14 5% adults tipped

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments And looks like we have a fun bonus for round 2 - this month only:

"Use your spell-it-outs and scavenger hunts to find items to keep kids entertained. Think board games, crayons, toys, books, peg games, tablets, face painting, clowns.... use your imagination!!
MAXIMUM 20 ITEMS IN TOTAL"

October Fresh Meal doesn't look too difficult
"◈ Chicken nuggets and waffle fries (chicken, bread or bread crumbs, salt, egg, flour, potato, oil)
Must contain chicken, potato and oil."

I didn't get online this past weekend either. I was busy with the family/grandkids. I didn't get much reading done either.

A lot of my books right now don't have a lot of food in them : ( Hopefully I will get to a few more that do before long.

Don't forget we can always use letters for spell outs. I have two science fiction books that have lots of vowels that I haven't made meals with yet.

A series I read will be used for spell it outs for sure. It's future dystopian and they only eat basic repetitive food. :)

I have been busy with work and all the fun plans this week, but reading when I get a chance. Haven't put in last read books on Goodreads even or updated challenges. Maybe I'll get some time / mood tomorrow :/

Ms.soule (mrssoule) | 15 comments Erin, on the spreadsheet it looks like you're using the spell-it-out option for the monthly special, but you're spelling out things for last month's special. This month's special is chicken nuggets and waffle fries (requiring chicken, potatoes, oil). I think you could reuse most of your spell-outs for curry or a sandwich.

Robin, I'll start adding your books.

Update: Robin's book Ketchup Clouds is still available for spell-it-out options, if anyone needs it.

Ah okay, I must have seen wrong tab.
I'll change it today and work on adding on all my books completely up to date since it's the last day.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments I put in the special, but did not click the given to customer box as I'm not sure when we do that.

Going to add other food items now.

As best I know, we don't check that box off - the mods do at the end of the round, I think? I could be wrong though, I'm figuring out this challenge as we go, lol.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 6537 comments I have a few more may be able to add, but did these completed meals for now: Monthly Special, Fish and Chips, Cappuccino, Hot Tea, Sandwich, Salad.
