Martin Bourne | 4 comments We have a book, probably YA though i didn't really specifically pick out age appropriate books back in the day.
I remember large wolf/dog men being viewed through a hole in the ceiling.
I remember the kids getting into this wolf/dogman dimension through a portal at their school.
I remember something about a game of chess in the plot.
Any help folks? I feel adult Marty will appreciate this story more than young Marty did, if i can work out what it is.

Martin Bourne | 4 comments I want to say the main characters were a brother/sister duo. I think...
Unsure on age, though i'm pretty sure they were in a school so that'd make them middle school age...i guess.

I'm not sure i ever finished a Stephen King book. I always found them too hard going.

However, I do think i've found the book.
I had an idea that there might be a wolf face on the front of it and came across something that looked familiar on page 73 odd of a google image search.

The Howen by Roger Stevens.
Playing in a forbidden area of their run-down school one day, Diz and Sharon fall into a time-trap from which there is no escape. They are not the only victims of the trap, which is ruled by a terrifying race of dogs called the Howen.
