Phoebe has a strong reaction to West before she knows his identity, one she describes as being similar to what she first felt to Henry. Was it so much him or her emerging from her period of grief and being ready to go back into the world?

[Sharon]

It was West mainly. He has powerful emotions. Also, it was the first time she had looked at another man for a long time. Henry was her love from childhood and the only man she considered to love. Now that Henry isn't around, West's desire is more prominent and not easily ignored.

[Robin]

I think it is a little of both. West certainly turned her head when she first saw him talking to her son. I think she fell for him right then. Henry has been gone for over two years. I think she was ready to move on to find someone else.

[Anita]

I think it was both. Phoebe loved her husband and mourned his passing deeply, but she also is a young woman with needs and wants. West is a handsome, witty fellow and he turned all his estimable charm on Phoebe.

I think it was all West! Yes, she’s emerging from her mourning but she had this reaction every time she was around him. They were well suited for each other.
