Sci Fi book about children with powers. These children are trained by an organization, and when they finish training, the organization manipulated the parents minds to forget their children. I believe the main character then meets up with the character previously thought of as the antagonist. I vaguely remember the main character having a strong relationship with his mother and ends up having the power to summon tornadoes.
