This might be an incredibly vague description so I apologise. The book was read between 2005 -2010. It was about a teenager whose parents were dead. She had to move away from her life and into witness protection alongside her older sister. I want to say they either moved from Indianapolis or lived in a small town outside Indianapolis. They also played a sort of Scrabble in the book but the rule was that the word played couldn't be in the dictionary. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be thankful :)

My first thought. They weren't in witness protection though-their father died, and they ran away because their stepmother wanted to send them to separate boarding schools.
