The Disney Sidekick Challenge

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!

It is time to commence the Disney Sidekick Challenge! If you participated in our Disney Challenge and/or Disney Villain Challenge, you would know that this will look exactly the same. The only difference is we are going to read for all the sidekicks instead. If you didn't participate in that challenge, though, just know that each character is from a Disney movie and is the sidekick to either the good or bad guys.

Challenge Rules
Participants will be split into teams evenly. Each team will be given 3 characters (chosen using random.org). The teams then have to read 4 tasks from those 3 characters. You will get a new character once 4 tasks for 1 character are completed, reviewed, and posted on the team's review thread. Character categories cannot be repeated until all eight tasks for that character are used on the team's review thread.

For example, if you got Magic Mirror and you only completed the first 4 tasks.

Magic Mirror:

- MC's first or last name has a double consonant
- Read a book from the Imprisoned Books List Hold
- MC consults with someone
- Tagged Spirit The Alchemist

When you get Magic Mirror again, you will need to finish the remaining 4 tasks.

If you have books that will work for the ones already completed - I suggest you put them on hold until you get Magic Mirror again.

Each team will also get 4 skips for the entire challenge. Skips can only be used towards characters that you do not want to complete 4 tasks for.

For example, if you got Magic Mirror and you wanted to skip 4 of her tasks.

After using your first skip for those 4 tasks, Magic Mirror is considered complete for the first portion. Once you get her again, you will have the remaining task to complete.

You can't use two skips on the same character. So since you used one skip for the first 4 tasks, you will have to complete the remaining 4 tasks.

I suggest you use your skips wisely.

Bonus Opportunities:
As a team, if you fully complete all the characters once, you will earn 100 points.
If you read a retelling, and the main character is from either the Disney Challenge, Villain Challenge or Sidekick Challenge you will get the following:

Disney - 10 points
Villain - 10 points
Sidekick - 20 points

If you read a retelling, and the book features a side character from either the Disney Challenge, Villain Challenge or Sidekick Challenge you will get the following:

Disney - 5 points
Villain - 5 points
Sidekick - 10 points

**For the retelling bonus, you can only claim one per book. For example, if you read The Ugly Stepsister by Aya Ling you could count it towards the MC in a retelling since Kat is transported into the world of Cinderella as Katriona, one of her ugly stepsisters. You will need to explain how your book fits for a retelling bonus!
**For the non-human sidekicks, you can receive the bonus points if they are either a familiar or sidekick of the main or side character.
**If you find none of the characters within your retelling book, I will also give you 2 bonus points IF a character reminds you of any of the characters within the three Disney challenges. You will need to explain what character they remind you of and how.

Flora, Fauna & Merryweather:

This will be a team reading challenge, which will run from September 1st to September 30th. Winners will be announced on October 1st.

Teams will be split as evenly as possible. If you would like to be on the same team with anyone, please comment with who when signing up. Please make sure that they also sign up.

When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of September. These numbers will be easier for me to make teams match up evenly.
