I recently discovered the Amaranthine series by Joleene Naylor. Her vampires are more in the Anne Rice model - scary and deadly as well as charismatic.

Agreed! A Bite's Tale is especially a favorite of mine because there's a mix of all kinds of supernaturals on one island. Really good! Oh, and it's a PNR version of Cinderella, so that's awesome :)


Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine became an instant classic for me, so that's on the top of my list amongst others. I also like Vampire Kisses because it's so freakin adorable :D
